Pakta- An incredible experience

Sockster, thanks for posting! The meal sounds fantastic. We are having dinner there next week and I can't wait. I've got a more mundane question. How dressy is it? Do men need a sports coat?
Back to the food front, any recommendations for more casual dining?

Barcelona in December - Comments on Shortlist

PBSF, You recommend eating at some simple traditional everyday places to give a foundation for a meal at one of the fine dining restaurants. Any recommendations for simple, traditional restaurants?

BBQ - Lynchburg VA to Durham NC

I read somewhere that Allen and Son closes at 5 on Wed., probably too early for us. Are there other alternatives in the Durham/Chapel Hill area? Is Backyard BBQ pit worth waiting for, instead of stopping in Lynchburg at the Silver Pig?

Barbecue Lynchburg VA to Durham NC

We are driving from Pennsylvania to Durham, NC this week (Wed. before Thanksgiving) and are looking for a BBQ stop for dinner. We'll be driving south through Lynchburg VA, Danville VA, Yanceyville NC, to Durham. Barbecue is sorely lacking in central Pennsylvania. I'd love any recommendations.
Thanks!

Griddle/Crepe pan from DeBuyer Mineral vs Mineral B Element

Sorry for duplicating posts, I should have done a better search.

Griddle/Crepe pan from DeBuyer Mineral vs Mineral B Element

I am looking for a griddle pan that is NOT non-stick to replace a 15 yr old caphalon griddle that is no longer flat. From other threads, it sounds like the DeBuyer crepe pan is a good choice. In looking at their pans, they have Mineral and Mineral B Element lines in the crepe pan. Does anyone know anything about the pluses/minuses of each? I am a home cook with a glass top stove. I'd welcome any recommendations.

Restaurant rec for single near Hotel Nikko

In looking through the Union Square posts, Farallon caught my eye. How does it compare to Fish and Farm?

Restaurant rec for single near Hotel Nikko

I will be in SF for one night for business mid-week, staying at Hotel Nikko (Mason & Farrell) and am looking for a restaurant for dinner. I'll be eating solo. I live in central PA where good restaurants are few and far between. I would like a place that I can walk to at night and not be uncomfortable as a single. Mid-price range is fine. Fresh local food would be great of any ethnicity.
Thanks! I am looking forward to a good meal.

Seafood/Cuban food in Miami

We will be in Miami for a weekend in March with our kids (6 and 9) and are looking for recommendations for a cuban restaurant and a good seafood restaurant. I was planning to go to Garcia's Grille, but they are not open for dinner. We will probably be staying in Doral near the Airport but will have a car. We are looking for non-chain restaurants. Also any recommendations for breakfast and good coffee?

Unforgettable Tenth Anniversary Dinner recommendations in Philly??

My husband and I will be in Philadephia for our tenth anniversary and are looking for a fantastic dining experience. We have lived in the San Franscisco Bay Area and in France, but moved to central PA 6 years ago and direly miss good restaurants. On other special occasions we have gone to the French Laundry, the Inn at Little Washington, and several 3 star restaurants in France including Auberge de L'Ill. Excellent food is our top priority. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
