On weekends, Mercado Internacional down in Chula Vista makes awesome carnitas.

They don't sell tacos or burritos but they do sell them by the pound and comes with tortillas and salsa on the side.

The carnitas are located next to the bakery inside the market.

Haven't so far but you can find it readily available in Tijuana : )

I am looking for this particular style of birria where the meat is usually steamed/roasted (called tatemada in Spanish) and the drippings from the meat are used for consomme.

So far,I have only found the stewed version here in San Diego.

Does anyone know of a place where they serve the tatemada version?
