Italian food Market????

If you don't go to Andreoli's, you're doing yourself a disservice, IMHO.

Best Seafood in Portland?

I should get even more specific- not looking for lobster or oysters, but big chunks of fresh fish cooked any way- fried, grilled, baked, whatever- just as long as it's fresh and delicious. It looks like Fore Street and Street and Co are good options, what else am I missing? Thanks in advance

Stone Brewing Co at Liberty Station - great space!

Can anyone who's been to both the Liberty Station and the Escondido brewery speak to the difference in the variety of beers available? I assume the food is the same at each, and I was also assuming they would have a wider array of beers at the actual brewery, but I wanted to confirm before I spent an hour driving north to Escondido...

Sage?

Unfortunately had a very similar experience regarding the food and service.

suggestions for 4 nights in Phoenix

Where in Scottsdale? As you know, it's pretty big. My favorite places there lately-

LAMP pizza (North)
Davanti Enoteca (Mid)
Brat Haus (Old Town)
Market St. Kitchen (North)

Not sure if any of these were open last year- maybe Davanti? But they are good new-ish places. What type of food are you looking for? How far do you want to drive? There's some great stuff elsewhere as well...

Restaurants in Buenos Aires

It's OK- I prefer Parilla Pena, and then for the touristy steak place, Cabana Las Lilas. I would put it 3rd behind those 2.

Restaurants in Buenos Aires

Agreed on La Brigada; by far my most disappointing parilla experience on my trip last year.

Restaurants in Buenos Aires

Parilla Pena- old-school locals-only type spot, with food better than the tourist places for half the money. Do a search on this board, you'll see others singing its praises as well

Return to Phoenix

Lots of good new stuff- check out Pig & Pickle or Davanti Enoteca, both in Scottsdale. While not "new" Crudo has moved into a bigger space and the menu is killer. Also not new, but some of the best food anywhere is Andreoli's. Finally, new and definitely exciting (but not in Scottsdale) is Khyber Halal, an Afghan-Pakistani place on 24th St. and Indian School. Family-owned, amazing grub.

Quick Phoenix reports: Brat Haus, Central Bistro, Last Drop, Baratin

Brat Haus rocks. I love that place- the lamb sausage is amazing, and the beer list is superlative.

Local Bistro in Scottsdale

I dig this place. Great wine list, food is good- been a while since I've been, but I had the salmon, and it was excellent- definitely more of a chef-driven feel than a chain feel. I would recommend you give it a shot.

In Mesa/Gilbert, there's also a new outpost of Postino, which is quite good- not destination dining, but certainly the best in that part of town

suggestions for 4 nights in Phoenix

Where in Phoenix are you, and how far are you willing to drive?

Based on the locations of the places you've picked so far, I would add-

Crudo- cocktails and amazing tapas- pricing is higher end
Grind- best burger in town- medium end
Khyber Halal- Afghan/Pakistani- lower end
Italian Restaurant- lesser-known offshoot from the Bianco empire- medium end

Let us know what types of cuisines you're specifically interested in and how far you want to drive.

Quick Phoenix report

Glad you liked Brat Haus, also one of my favorite places for good food and a terrific beer selection

Hello Phoenix - Friday Night Dinner Rec?

I'm seeing a trend at Distrito where the tortillas are either good, or as you described, thick and dry. I've had 2 good, and 1 bad now. I'm half inclined to try to talk to someone over there to see if they know about it, or plan to do anything about it.

AZ Taco Festival Feedback

It was really hot on Saturday, be glad you went on Sunday instead. I agree on the music. Thought they could have done a better job on the shade as well. The food was great, and I'm glad I went, but not sure I'll be back- when their idea of a "craft" beer is Blue Moon, and I'm paying 3 tickets (in this case, 3 tacos) for it, I'm just not seeing the value- I understand the focus is (and should be) the food, but who doesn't like a beer or non-premade-watered down margarita with their taco?

My favorite tacos were J-Licious (pink taco truck lady), Mission, and La Hacienda (glad I tried this place- never heard of it, now it's on my list for dinner some time) . Bummed I missed Milagro all together, who I guess won quite a few awards...

Any new BYOB restaurants or ones with corkage fees?

It's not new, but it is BYOB- I've had good meals at Coup Des Tartes.

Dinner at JW Marriott Desert Ridge

There's not a whole lot in walking distance. Roy's is OK, wouldn't be my first choice for a night out- haven't been to any of the other restaurants on property.

Hello Phoenix - Friday Night Dinner Rec?

I would strongly second Crudo- finally went there last weekend, and had the best meal of my year thus far. The other places mentioned are good to great, but Crudo is heads and shoulders above what's been mentioned IMHO.

Great Spaghetti Restaurant-SE Valley?

Check out Alessias Ristorante in Mesa- Higley and Brown. Family-owned, great food, amazing homemade sauces and pastas.

Bouchon. Chicken and waffles. No need to say any more :-) (the more traditional breakfast stuff is awesome too)

White Mountains area - Show Low | Pinetop | Lakeside | Greer | Alpine

The Red Onion is pretty good in Heber, as is the Clubhouse at Torreon in Show Low- I don't think you need to be a member to eat there, and they have a great selection of beers and good grub.

Breweries/Brewpubs/Beer Bars

Wow. I think there was a pretty bad review on Chow Bella as well on this place. Too bad- always like to see local breweries do good, but I can honestly say I've never had one of their beers, so I guess I'll never know what I'm missing!

Breweries/Brewpubs/Beer Bars

Good call on the Whole Foods- they actually have a similar set-up at the WF on Mayo up in North Scottsdale where the OP said he would be staying at as well. Forgot about San Tan- I think of the 3 breweries (Four Peaks, Papago, and San Tan) probably my #3, but their food is really good also.

Breweries/Brewpubs/Beer Bars

Whole Foods has a good selection of bottles, and there's 2 in North Scottsdale. For a much better selection but longer drive, check out Total Wine on Scottsdale south of Shea.

As for actual pubs, start with Four Peaks- there's one up in North Scottsdale- they do a great job with both the beers and the brews. There's not that many other places that actually brew their own beers, but there are several places that have fantastic beer selections. Still up in North Scottsdale in Desert Ridge is a chain I think they have in SD, the Yard House. Food is "eh" for a chain, but a great beer selection. Other places in N. Scottsdale that ha

Further south in Old Town Scottsdale, you have the Praying Monk which just opened, and is a tribute to all things Belgian beer-wise (they have other stuff too). South of Old Town is Papago Brewery, which actually does make their own beer which is quite good, but it is a bit of a drive for you, especially if you're firing down all sorts of beers :-)

Further west from Old Town is a great place called OHSO (no idea what it stands for), which is supposed to have some of its own "nano brew" being developed, but in the meantime, has an amazing list of great beers on tap.

24 hours in Vegas: build my food itinerary!

The walk from Mandalay to Paris isn't exactly a quick one. I would personally cab it up to Bouchon at the Venetian for breakfast- if you spend the cab fare, it's probably a push from a time perspective.
