Best garlic wings in tampa

I had some pretty darn tasty wings at Babalu in St. Pete last night - the house special which is a buffalo garlic mix. Pretty fair price for decent sized wings.

Man, those look so good right now.

Best Chicken Wings in Tampa Bay

Thanks for the update! Also, they have Domenica Macchia ;)

Also, the Dunedin Brewery has some pretty solid wings (not to mention beer) - marinated overnight and server naked w/ sauce on the side. Yum! i can taste the creamy buffalo, awesome blue cheese and ice cold celery now!

Tampa / St Pete Beach recommendations?

Does anyone else serve it? ;-)

Love their tomato jelly . . .

You may want to read through this wing thread here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/132520

As a side: Does anyone remember the name of a place in Bradenton that did garlic wings (amongst other flavors)? OMG those were the best. I think it was off of cortez, near the mall... I could be wrong though, it has been AGES... I think it was a sports bar..

Ramen in Tampa Bay

Ahhh, looks good. If I get out they way, must try.

Reading thru the Bokuchoi blog, I see "Sushi Spot/Noodle World" in Largo also serves ramen.

Ramen in Tampa Bay

Does anyone know where to find it?

I have heard I Ai Sushi in Tampa serves it but, anywhere else?

Thanks!

Islamorada

Ma's Fish Camp. Everything was great. It is more of a "chowish" place I think - not on the water. If you want to dine on the water, then Morada Bay.

Thai food in St. Pete?

I've been wondering how Sila Thai is . . .

Family Friendly restaurants in New Orleans

4 & 2 - not relying as we have a car.

Family Friendly restaurants in New Orleans

No family friendly restaurants? Why go to New Orleans then? Might as well just eat at my local Long John Silvers.

The Burg Bar & Grille on Central Ave in Saint Petersburg.

Very good wings. Good size, piping hot, and very tasty sauce. Cold blue cheese, celery and beer. Doesn't get much better.

Pinellas County Burgers

The beer list is above average and the burgers are really good, yes.

Ohh, the chicken wings are really good too! (Time to update chicken wing thread.)

NEW YORKER HEADING TO FLORIDA, SHOCKER!!

Ehhh, perhaps. I haven't been impressed though.

Pizza in St. Petersburg?

I'm not sure what you have tried so far, but here are the places (mostly NE St. Pete), where I frequently get pizza from:

1. Valentino's Little Italy
2. Paisanos Pizza n' Pasta
3. Tour de Pizza
4. Cappy's Pizza - They make both NY and Chicago deep dish. Both are great but the deep dish stands out. Normally, I don't like deep dish, but I think Cappy's does it perfectly - Better than anything I have had in Chicago. Plus, they have a decent selection of micro beers in bottles which is always a plus.
5. Joey Brooklyns
6. Pegs Cantina (gulfport) - Not NY style but good. AND, you get to drink fresh home brewed beer plus tons of other micros in bottle and usually several other guest beers on tap.
7. Old NE pizza - I think their pizza is tasty, but usually they load it up with too much sauce. Ask them to go easy.
8. Astra's

Gianni's NY Pizza is supposed to be good, but I have not been. How about Bella Brava for takeout? They have real tasty pizza. Heck, I like Carrabba's pizza. There are others but this is all I can think of at the moment.

So, where have you eaten so far?

Pizza in St. Petersburg?

Where else have you had pizza from? That way, when I publish my list of go-to pizza joints, I will know to exclude it or not ;-)

Pizza in St. Petersburg?

And now I have :-) - Pretty good. Good crust, fresh toppings - overall, a good pie. They use Grande cheese (Do I have that right [grande]?). The owners seem very nice. I can't believe I've never seen the place.

Pizza in St. Petersburg?

I can't believe I have never eaten their pizza.

St. Petersburg's Alesia Restaurant?

Looks great. Thanks for posting!

charcuterie platter . . . Mmmmmmm

Proper Bars in Downtown St Petersburg.

+1 on the Ale and the Witch if you want to drink some good beer.

If you are doing the downtown bar crawl thing, maybe Ruby's Elixir ? Have not been there so I don't know but, just a thought! :-) http://rubyselixir.com/

Then, you will be closer to Red Mesa Cantina, as 'laboheme' has suggested. Also, I will say Z Grille has a nice bar backed by a great selection of wine, spirits and craft beers (plus really good food) http://www.zgrille.net/spiritz.html

Twin Oaks Ribs & Grill - Clearwater

Their menu says:

Monday thru Saturday - 11:00 am to 8:00pm.

@Mild Bill

$9.46 cents (somethin' like that).

Twin Oaks Ribs & Grill - Clearwater

I don't know if you stopped in yesterday or not, but I did :) - and the ribs were good. I started chatting w/ the pitmaster about woods they use to smoke with. Turns out, he uses citrus wood every once in awhile as well.

Picture attached of rib platter w/ mac n' cheese and chicken and rice sides (pre mustard sauce). The chicken in rice was loaded up w/ smoked sausage as well. Was good!

Sorry, that should have read "I have managed" to avoid.

A manager might be a good idea as well . . .

Twin Oaks Ribs & Grill - Clearwater

(Just a quick note on this one.)

I've had ribs and pulled pork from Twin Oaks a few times now. Their ribs are better than anything else within the *immediate vicinity*, so I figured it was time for a CH mention as an FYI to y'all.

I typically get a rib-sandwich - sauce on the side. They do a mustard based sauce that is finger lickin' good. They offer either the large end or small end of the rack. I tend to favor the smaller end and to opt to pay a dollar more for it. I've also had the pulled pork (it's more of a chopped pork) with the sauce fully incorporated into it. Normally, I hate pork this way but the sauce is good so I ate it. Would have sauce on the side next time. If I had to say anything bad, perhaps a tiny bit too much smoke from the oak. I would love to see them throw some hickory and/or apple chunks into the fire.

French fries were hot and good. Collards were a bit salty for my taste. Haven't tried any other sides.

Their menu is a large mix of items and, so far, I have manager to avoid their fried chicken . . . for now.

Best Chicken Wings in Tampa Bay

I had good wings at The Burg Bar & Grill the other night. Plus, they have a decent beer selection too!

Alligator ribs, anybody?

Interesting selection there o_0

Snake, gator toes . . . Fried turtle and more! No balut though ;)

Authentic Chicago Style Italian Beef in Tampa

You know what? The Italian Beef at Gatsby’s was really good I thought. Served on a large, tasty fresh baked roll - not your typical hoagie roll that gets all soggy.

The service, however, was terrible the one time that I have been.

Authentic Chicago Style Italian Beef in Tampa

"Hot Dogs on Main" in Dunedin also does Italian Beef. Have not tried but their Chicago Dawg was pretty good. Nice folks too.

There is some other place I saw Italian Beef but now my memory fades me.
