Top Cheap Eats of Montreal?

True but considering the amount of specialties we ordered and the fact that we also over ordered, it was a pretty good deal. Everyone knows that sushi is quite expensive however, Tri Express is one of the best and cheapest sushi restaurant you will find in montreal. For me this place is a cheap eat sushi restaurant. If you really are in the mood for sushi go to Tri Express instead of Kanda or Sushi Shop.

Top Cheap Eats of Montreal?

Compared to other sushi restaurants in montreal, I believe it is pretty cheap. The last time I went there, a meal for 2 came up to about 50$ and I ordered many specialties. This is a bit cheaper than what I would have to pay at Kanda (all you can eat sushi). However, Kanda sushi does not come near to the sushi from Tri Express.

Where can I find a restaurant that cooks rare burgers?

Burger De Ville on St-laurent or Westminster. I've had mine medium rare before. Their 100% real beef burgers are delicious and are also very cheap! They also have a huge variety of FREE toppings.

Best prices for an espresso machine?

Just letting you know that the machine I got was not on liquidation. I was able to save 20% off on any coffee product and an additional 25% off through getting an HBC credit card. It's worth signing up for the credit card and canceling after making the purchase. The citiz nespresso machine is fairly new and was not on liquidation. Hungryann, I suggest you check Deco Decouvert out before you spend your money online. I know that I wasn't able to get the same deal online.

Best prices for an espresso machine?

I'm not a coffee geek either however I recently bought my boyfriend's mom a nespresso machine for very cheep at Deco Decouvert (Last sunday). The machine we bought originally at 300$ (citiz) in the end came out to be 164$. We saved 45% off! I know you don't want a nespresso machine but you should go to Deco Decouvert since they have other espresso machines available as well. There will be a person that will help you and will give you free samples too.

Top Cheap Eats of Montreal?

-Asian (japanese) : Tri express on laurier. You should go for their specialties such as new style sashimi, baked vivaneau, filet mignon salad, sashimi tartars a la tri, and rice paper maki roles. However I don't suggest you get their other makis since they aren't as good.
http://www.triexpressrestaurant.com/

-Asian (Vietnamese): Hoai Huong on victoria. They offer a wide variety of dishes for very cheap. I suggest you get their Banh Dap (rice cakes with meat) and Mi Hoai Houng (Yellow noodle soup).

-Burger/Steak: Burger De Ville on St-Laurent or Westminster. Their gourmet burgers served on poppy seed buns start off at 4$ and have a huge variety of FREE toppings (sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, harissa mayo...etc.). Their juicy and flavourful 14 oz. steak at 14$ are to die for!

Stand Out Vietnamese Place in Montreal?

The Bò Tái Chanh at L'Harmonie d'Asie is way better than Pho Tay Ho's

Stand Out Vietnamese Place in Montreal?

-L'Harmonie d'asie [65 Duluth E] has authentic vietnamese food. It's a small bring your own wine place. The service is long however it is worth the wait! you should try their Bo Tai Chanh (vietnamese beef carpaccio), Canh Chua (sour soup), and duck (can't remember which one I had). I also highly recommend their vietnamese dessert, che troi nuoc (rice balls with bean paste in a coconut ginger milk. This place is definitely more exotic than other vietnamese cuisine.

-Dao Vien [5623 cote-des-Neiges]. This place has the best Bun Oc (snail soup). Their Pho is pretty good too. I don't suggest you get their Banh Cuon (rice cake) since it's no longer as good as before.

-Ong Ca Cun [79 Ste-Catherine East (St-Laurent)]. I haven't been here in a really long time but I hear from my cousins that it's still really good. The only thing I can remember eating there was the Bo 7 Mon (seven courses of beef) which is eaten with rice paper. I've heard their vietnamese papaya salad (Goi) is good there too.

-Lan [6700 boul. saint-laurent]. The owner was the previous owner of Chez Tung close to vanhorne. The serve great vietnamese papaya salad. Although the food is not authentic, I really enjoyed the fried chicken wings with sweet chili sauce and curry mussels.

-Pho Lien [right at the corner of cote des neiges and cote st. catherine]. They serve Pho and Bun Bo hue (Lemon Grass vermicelli soup) and a variety of other dishes there. I prefer their Pho soup over Pho Tay Ho's. You must try their dessert, Che Ba Mau (three colored dessert/drink). This Che Ba Mau is the best compared to any other restaurant in montreal

Garde Manger, Au Cinquieme Peche, Le Bleu Raisin, or DNA?

I went to DNA for the first time today and I was quite disappointed. Although they had amazing service and a great atmosphere, the food was not good at all. We had the charcuterie which was alright, veal sweetbread (wasn't good), clam casino (alright), raw scallops (alright), calamari with saffron aioli (absolutely terrible), and ravioli (overcooked, too tiny, in a broth not a sauce). Seems like a lot of food but their portions were really tiny. We finished off with the donut and dandilion and honey icecream for dessert. Funny to say that the donuts were the most exciting part of the night. I am currently still hungry. Their dishes all sounded good and interesting however they didn't taste great. Our bill at the end of the night came to 155$ which really wasn't worth it. I don't recommend this restaurant.

Burger DE ville - NDG ( Westminster)

@C70- I would say that out of all the steaks i've had, Burger De Ville's steak is number 1! What makes it taste so good is that they add spices and garlic (you have to ask for this) and they keep the fat on. This allows it to the steak to become flavourful and absolutely juicy. The next time you go to Burger De Ville, get the steak! I guarantee you'll be satisfied.

Gourmet Burger. It was very good but too much $$$$

Not only are the toppings limited, the burger is not 100% real beef. Burger De Ville has a lot more exciting toppings than the regular lettuce, tomato, mustard, ketchup..etc. Harveys is more fast food while Burder De Ville would be more gourmet.

Le gourmet reminds me of mbrgr on drummond where they charge you for toppings. I'm a person that goes crazy for toppings. Thanks for your post. I don't think I'll ever go there.

Indian in Montreal.

The atmosphere at Atma was very nice and warm. I was with a large group so we had the second floor to ourselves where we sat on nice comfy cushions. I can't elaborate too much on the food since we had a fixed menu (butter chicken, naan bread, samosas..etc). I thought the food was satisfactory compared to Le Taj. However, the decor and the feel of the place is out of this world. It puts you in a great mood. I know Le Taj recently underwent renovations but I haven't been there since. If I had to pick between LeTaj and Atma, I would go with Le Taj since the food was better. However, it may be a little pricier.
GOOD LUCK!!

Gourmet Burger. It was very good but too much $$$$

Wow that's quite expensive! There's a place called Burger De Ville on St. Laurent and on Westminster that has amazing burgers for a lot less. I suggest you try it out. The burgers are 100% real beef. The bacon and cheese burger starts off at $5.50 and all other toppings are free! (jalapeno peppers, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions... you name it). Their steaks are really good too. Although, their wait time is similar to Gourmet Burger or a little faster. Regardless I suggest you give this place a try one day. I guarantee you will be satisfied.

I understand that it is a burger joint, I've been there. It was just a side note for great steaks for everyday lunches.

Cherlmtl- I know that Burger De Ville is no where near fancy however I just thought it would be nice to point out this place since her husband enjoys eating steak. Not many people have heard about it since it's relatively new. It was simply a side thought.

Holder is currently my favourite restaurant at the moment.

The best steak I've ever had would honestly be at Burger De Ville in st-laurent or in montreal west. It's not an upscale restaurant however, they make the best fresh burgers and steak at an incredible price. I'm a huge steak fan too and this place beats the keg, bifteck, and baton rouge. You should try it out for lunch on day.
