Best Combination of Bar with TV and Good Food Hi all, I'm going to be in Chicago next week and would like to find a place where I can watch the Bruins game at a bar and enjoy top-notch food at the same time. Generally a big fan of Gibson's and Shaw's, but am interested in trying something new. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! |

Good Eats and MNF Near Intercontinental Nob Hill Hi all, I'm headed out to SF tomorrow morning for a business trip and am really not too familiar with the local dining scene. I'm staying at the Intercontinental Nob Hill (1 California St.) and could use some dinner advice. I love trying out local "celebrity" chefs when I get a chance but ideally would like a place with a bar and a TV that I could hunker down at to watch Monday Night Football while still enjoying great food. Budget is around $75 all-inclusive. Thanks much for any advice! |

We spend all day together so it's sometimes nice to have the TV distraction over dinner! |

Football isn't a terribly big priority, more of a hope, I'd say. It's a constant struggle to find a place that combines top-notch food with low-key atmosphere! |

Thanks NSX! That confirms some choices I had come across as being good options. Appreciate it! |

One Night In ATL - Work Dinner Suggestion Thanks Bob, appreciate the tips. He does gravitate towards Italian and steak house. I'm more French/steak house. |

One Night In ATL - Work Dinner Suggestion Hi everyone! I'm going to Atlanta for my first time for work and am looking for a suggestion for a fantastic dinner. Upper end of the price range is ok. The problem will be balancing my tastes with my bosses. I like the new, hot restaurants, the big chef names, etc. My boss is pretty old-fashioned and doesn't care about that stuff, he just wants a good meal in a not-too-stuff environment. If anyone's familiar with New York, Il Tinello is his favorite restaurant. Is there anything like "upscale BBQ?" I realize this is kind of a schizo description, but if anyone has any thoughts I'd love to hear them! |

Il Tinello is as old school as it gets. Everything is brought out on a cart, what seems like hundreds of Italians swarming around the table taking care of things. Excellent food and service, just a little on the old fashioned end of the spectrum for me. I took my boss to Craft in LA and I think he hated it. Different strokes I suppose. We may end up at The National, which is close to our hotel, if Wolfgang's gets vetoed. Very much appreciate all the advice! |

Very much appreciate the advice RGR! Adour looks amazing, as does Ai Fiori. Unfortunately I think they might be too gourmand for his tastes. If it was up to me, I'd pick either in a heartbeat. |

This is the one on 41st that I got a reservation at, more as a place holder than anything else. Sadly no availability for Keen's tonight, but it looks like the right ambiance and feel! |

Thanks for the tip cookies! 4 people. Upper end of the budget spectrum. Not Per Se budget, but high end. |

Hi all, I'm looking for a spot for dinner tonight for a work dinner near Times Square. My boss prefers traditional spots like Il Tinello, for example. Thinking a steakhouse would be good. The main consideration would be that it be quiet enough to have a detailed conversation. Any thoughts on Wolfgangs? Appreciate any suggestions! |

My wife loves the chocolate/coffee flavor combination and her favorite liquor is amaretto. I think she's going to be in heaven. |

Thanks Kathryn and Riverman! I totally forgot about The Modern, a place I'd wanted to go to a while ago but plans fell through. Just made a reservation for tonight! |

Hi all, I'll be going to Maze at The London tonight with my wife for dinner and I'm hoping someone can suggest somewhere to go for dessert after either close to there or close to the Waldorf. Thanks! |

Thanks for the suggestion Ellen and Prince! Both look great. I'm thinking that we may try Degustation, looks like a great value for a tasting menu. Does anyone have any experience there? My only concern is my wife doesn't eat pork... |

Thank you so much for the thoughtful reply! I guess I was shooting for $150 total, but I'm pretty sure that's not such a realistic expectation. Scarpetta looks like it might be a winner so far ----- |

"Cool, hip, casual, good food on the Upper West Side" Thank you and everyone else for your replies! After some consultation we decided on Tolani! ----- |

"Cool, hip, casual, good food on the Upper West Side" I totally agree with the "hip" problem. It's very much in the eye of the beholder. I've taken my FIL to Craft in LA and he was pretty "meh" about the experience, which I thought was fantastic. He's more of an Il Tinello, Fiorello's guy. ----- Il Tinello |
