My first trip to Italy is coming up and I don't want to commit too many typically American "faux pas" while dining out. Can any seasoned traveler answer these questions: In a trattoria, must one order all of the courses from antipasto through dessert? Or, is it acceptable to order, say, an antipasto, a second course and dessert? If I wanted to do this, would I be better off going to a wine bar or some other type of eatery? Also, is it acceptable to request a "doggie bag" any ant sort of eating establishment, or is this not done? Any other advice on what to do or what not to do while eating out in Italy would be very much appreciated! Jokenbev
