Christmas Dinner in Rome

Thanks, so much - I'll check out your recommendations. For Christmas if we end up "splurging" it will be OK. For the rest of the trip I have your app loaded and ready to go. Cheers. We look forward to our trip.

Christmas Dinner in Rome

Thanks for taking the time to reply and the helpful info. Restaurants being open in the Jewish Ghetto makes sense!
Mille grazie!

Christmas Dinner in Rome

We had to re-schedule our summer Rome trip so now we have an opportunity to spend Christmas in Rome.
We are a family of five - including a budding CIA chef.
Budget not a big issue.
Three questions ( feel free to help with any).
1) What restaurnat would you recommend for Christmas dinner( and is in fact open! )??
2) What restaurant in Trastevere for great food and atmosphere would you recommend.
3) Any food destination at Christmas time we shouldn't miss?

Thanks

A great dinner near TERME DI CARACALLA ?

Thanks - very helpful. So it sounds like dinner than a short cab ride might be the way to go. Could I eat at Checchino at 7 and get to the theater for a 9pm performance without feeling too rushed?
Again , thanks. Excited about our trip - how can I not be!!!

A great dinner near TERME DI CARACALLA ?

When in Rome in July my family is excited to see a ballet production at the ruins of TERME DI CARACALLA. Any recommendations for a great spot for dinner within a short walk. Thinking more along the lines of a restaurant or upscale trattoria. The Ballet starts at 9 and we don't want to rush. Dinner after the ballet wouldn't work of us. Thanks for any help you all can offer.

Ideas For fun dinner with 18 teenagers

In a couple of weeks I'll be on a school trip with 18 high school seniors. Looking for a recommendation for a restaurant with good food and fun funky atmosphere in downtown Seattle. Thoughts? Thanks , all.

Cafe Barrio or..

FnB - great food. Small place. A place for foodies. Sometimes the menu might feel limited. Likely would be a successful dinner. Barrio and barrio queen more casual. Barrio Queen has served great food but the last two times we went it was a bit of hit and miss. For Mexican our current favorite is Distrito. Casual. Great favors. Food that will make you pause and appreciate.

Where is some of the better fine dining in Scottsdale?

The closest thing to a true fine dining experience Is Kai Restaurant at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass resort. The ambience is just ok. Unfortunately you feel like you're at a hotel restaurant. But the level of service can't be matched. The food is excellent and is modern American with a Native American influence.
NOCA has consistent fantastic food ( our favorite spot). Modern American with an Italian influence. Not loud but not quiet. I agree with Lon's as well. Enjoy.

Great dining near Kissimmee or do I need to drive?

Greetings. Heading to Kissimmee with my wife. Part work, part fun. We love great food and great dining experiences. Ravenous Pig seems like a winner. To get that kind of dining experience do I have to travel through Orlando or are there spots closer yet still worthy? We're looking for a place that offers consistent great food. Price not a concern. Quality is. Looking for dinner options ,mostly. Thanks for any help.

couples weekend in Scottsdale

For truly excellent Thai food I have to strongly recommend Soi4 in Gainey Village. They are a bit creative in using proteins you might not find in a typical Thai restaurant - such as short ribs and pork shoulder. The quality is first notch and the flavors are spot one. In my opinion I have yet to find an Indian restaurant that is consistent and truly represents Indian cuisine. I'm gonna put in a last minute shout out for NOCA. I think they have the most consistent, excellent food in the Phx/Scottsdale area. Every component of every dish is prepared near to perfection. If you want a great food experience go there. If you want a fun 'downtown' dining experience Cowboy Ciao can be great fun but I've had both great meals there and terrible meals there.

A tale of two lists

Great - thanks!
I guess either Clemente has good food or there are a bunch of concierges getting some free meals :)

A tale of two lists

After great help from this board I compiled a list of restaurants for a friend who will be in Rome in October:

All'Orro
La Campana
Edy
Trattoria Monti
Armando al Pantheon
Le Main in Pasta
Antico Arco

(I, myself, plan on going to Edy, Campana and All'Orro in Septmenber)

My friend's concierge gave him the following list:
1)il san Lorenzo
2Clemente alla Maddalena
3) Hires
4)Paris
5)Le sorelle

Obviously, there is a lot of great food in Rome - At the very least I would want to steer my friend away from a 'clunker"
Anything to exclude from either list?

Thanks!!!!

Great food with interesting neighborhood in Rome - need help, please.

Thank you both. I'm in the midst of work (no fair to have work get in the way of fun) and don't have time to fully digest your excellent recommendations. I will tonight and might pick you collective brains a bit more. Thanks again for the quick replies and help.

Great food with interesting neighborhood in Rome - need help, please.

My wife and I will be in Rome for 3 nights in September. We're staying near the Spanish Steps. I imagine being busy all day - returning to the hotel - chill for a bit then head out for dinner. The first night I think we'll eat at Edy. Close to the hotel and apparently great food.
La Campana is a thought for Sunday. Is it a good (i.e intersting) walk from the Spanish steps to there?
Also thinking of All'Oro for one night . Is that far to walk to? If too far - is it a good destination to take a cab and walk around the area?
Is there a area I should not miss to stroll around at night - and also a great restaurant in that area?
Sorry - I don't know the layout of Rome well.
I appreciate any and all help.
