Coco's in Easthampton MA
We went last week and had a great dinner. The place was full of happy diners when we arrived at 6:45, as was mostly full when we left an hour later. The menu is limited to 5-6 appetizers and 5-6 entrees (all of them would have made me happy). The portion sizes are moderate...enough to fill you up, not so much that you would need a doggie bag...and the prices are very reasonable given the quality of the meal...$16-20. The interior is very attractive...not as swanky as Venus (which used to occupy that space), but comfortable and approachable. Bottom line...we liked it and we will go back!
Venus Restaurant in Easthampton, MA
Sorry to be so late in reporting back. We enjoyed our meal at Venus very much. Very nice atmosphere, great service, but of course, none of that means much if the food doesn't measure up. But the food was terrific. The grilled salad was so interesting...never had anything like it before. Great!! The heirloom quinoa side dish was also excellent. I have had mixed results with regular quinoa before, but this heirloom dish proved to me that quinoa can be delicious when prepared by a master. My lamb and my wife's fish were both excellent. No complaints at all...we will go back, but it is a premium price restaurant, so it will be reserved for special nights out. Highly recommended.

I saw that there was some activity inside on 6/19, so I ducked in for a quick look. As it turned out, that was their "soft" opening night. It looked very nice, and the menu was high end. The Cellar Bar downstairs also looked very nice.
I spoke to a friend who was there on that opening night. Very positive. My wife and I are going this evening. I'll report back with my reaction.
Lenox, Lee and Great Barrington MA - I need help!!!
That may be true, but this seemed to have more bacon than clam! Also, with vegetarianism being fairly mainstream, a call-out for the bacon would have been appropriate in the menu description
NEW FIND IN SHELBURNE FALLS
Add another vote in favor of both Side Street and Apollo. Great food, comfortable atmosphere and prices are still reasonable for the quality. Del Raye has a lot of "alumni" out there in the local restaurant scene...these are two good examples.
Lenox, Lee and Great Barrington MA - I need help!!!
Just want to add my two cents on Dish. We went for lunch with high hopes, only to be very disappointed. Only the salad was good...all other dishes were surprisingly bad. Flatbread - my older son couldn't finish it. Crabcakes - unpleasant and undercooked. Clam Chowder - my younger vegetarian son was appalled to find it laced with plenty of BACON! (No warning on the menu of the meat invasion). Table was cramped and service was lacking. It was a bit pricey as well (but this IS Lenox, after all). Save yourself the disappointment.
Dining in Worcester area [Moved from Boston Area board]
Thanks for the advice! We are going to try Bocado, something new and different for us. I'll report back on the results.
Bocado (Tapas) in Worcester
This is directed to Puppymomma. We are trying to find a spot roughly mid-way between Northampton (where we live) and Newton (where our friends live) to meet for a evening of fine dining. We all appreciate imaginative and high quality food and are looking for something special. You seem to have a good read on the Central Mass region. You are clearly excited about Bocado, based on your review above. Surfing around Chowhound has yielded 2 other leading contenders: Sole Proprietor (Worcester) and Cedar Street (Sturbridge). What are your thoughts on the matter? Are you still a fan of Bocado? Any other choices we should consider?

Thoughts on the Pioneer Valley
I also like Moshi Moshi...It is our favorite sushi place right now (although Osaka is also very good). While we like the sushi Moshi Moshi prepares (and they have some very interesting creative offerings), it is Sam, the owner, which keeps us coming back. He is a great guy, a real character, who makes a sincere effort to get to know you and to make you feel welcome. Always an enthusiastic warm greeting (and recognition) when we come in. We often sit at the sushi bar just so we can watch him at work and talk with him while we're there.
