Walk-In as a big group early

Looking for a place in SF for a group of say 6-10 people on saturday 10/6
reservations would be great
but i know this late in the game and for a group this big, it's improbable
we have no problem getting to the restaurant when it first opens and trying to get a big walk-in table

Quick Trip to SF/Napa... Need help

gonna skip mustards and do roli roti at the ferry on saturday since i though swan opens at 8 but it's 1030
so a light late lunch at oxbow sounds good
gott's or kitchen door?
thinking of canceling cotogna rez, got one for rich table on the same night

Quick Trip to SF/Napa... Need help

making a quick trip from nyc to sf for a friend's wedding in Napa
need help with restaurant list
not against eating 4-5 meals a day just to fit everything in
arriving in SF thurs night, driving to napa for wedding on fri, driving back to SF saturday morning, first flight out sunday morning
so not many days and meals to fit everything in

Thurs Night: have a dinner rez at cotogna for thurs night at 10pm
not sure if i want to keep that, if i do thinking of getting a drink at comstock saloon nearby

Fri morning: Swan Oyster Depot for breakfast. Opens at 8am? What is the line like at that time? Do I have to arrive at 7:30?
Roli Roti at Blue Bottle Oakland for porchetta at 11:30
driving to napa after
(also have a 1130 reservation at mustard's grill)
so driving to decide between roli roti and mustards
dinner: wedding

Sat: Breakfast/brunch/lunch open
Early dinner open
10 PM dinner: rez at State Bird Provisions

Other places i was considering: NOPA, Commonwealth, Alembic, Maven, Elixir

Looking for both places to eat and drink
would love some help with filling in the blanks as well as changing things up if suggested
Thanks in advance!!!

Brushstroke supplements

I went to brushstroke last december and had a very enjoyable experience eating the 10 course $135 menu. I made reservations again for my anniversary this coming saturday. When i looked at an updated menu i saw that there were so many supplements. I don't remember all these supplements ($19 for sashimi, $16 for wagyu, extra for uni) in december. The only supplement i recall was for the dungeness crab rice pot. I remember sashimi was an included course. Wagyu didn't have a supplement. And the cod came with uni already. When did they add all these supplemental charges. For $135, I feel like there should be none of them. Maybe reconsidering anniversary plans. Any suggestions. On the Kyo-ya waiting list as of now.

New & Overwhelmed: Looking for a few great dinner spots...HELP please

waits at those places can definitely get up there sometimes. went to buvette a couple of saturdays ago at 8pm. as a party of 2 i was able to slip into seats at the counter right away (the counter is really where you want to be sitting anyway). you get to talk to the line cooks as they prepare the food in front of you and they'll move your order slip to the front of the line if you're nice. problem is parties of 4 were quoted a 1.5 hour wait. thursdays are probably better but i would expect 30 minutes at a minimum. i haven't been there for breakfast or lunch yet but i know that the croque monsieur has gotten a lot of press. if you do decide to go, get the oxtail marmalade, one of my favorite bites in the city right now. also if you are looking for a good breakfast/lunch spot, dominique ansel bakery on spring is awesome. chef there was pastry chef at daniel for a while. now does great breakfast foods and pastries, though a bit on the pricey side. space is great. there is an outdoor area in the back, and if it's too cold there is a enclosed greenhouse area too.

Look into Buvette or any of April Bloomfield's restaurants (I prefer breslin and john dory over spotted pig, though spotted pig's chicken liver toast is one of the best bites in the city). Places are livelier and more casual than the places you've been to and i think it'll be a change of pace and better representation of the diversity of restaurants in the city. Downside is none of these places take reservations but all three have great cocktail programs (Buvette just has wines and aperitifs and also makes a great manhattan).

Recs for special occasion

looking for a place in mid december for an anniversary dinner
first and foremost, place needs to have great food
been to le bern, marea, emp, ko, daniel
right now i'm considering kajitsu, jean georges, sho, brushstroke
nothing jumping out at me right now
lately been enjoying more low key places (st anselm, buvette, jones wood)
so anything that slants toward lower key but great food is good too
any additions or subtractions from the list appreciated

Saturday night with no reservations..where do you go that doesnt blow the bank?

John Dory Oyster Bar. You can get a couple of small plates that pack a lot of flavor. And they also have a great seasonal cocktail menu. Loud and good vibe. Def check it out.

Fore Street: Toddler Friendly?

Making a trip from NYC up to Maine and have always heard good things about Fore Street. We have an 18 month toddler and was wondering if Fore Street can accommodate with a high chair or if it's not really a family friendly place. Any feedback would be much apprectiated. Thanks!!
