If you liked La Condessa, consider Sway. It's a take on Thai food from some of the same people. It's not technically downtown, but less than a $10 cab ride away. |

I've got to pick Taco Deli as my favorite "street taco." Love the unique combinations, and have found them to be more flavorful than Torchy's. Juan in a Million is another good choice and certainly well above average. |

Anybody seen these around town? I think they were discontinued several months ago, but I think stores are allowed to sell their remaining stock. I saw them at a gas station in Crockett, but that's a little far away. All help appreciated. |

Sunday Brunch Buffet at The Park (Domain) Thoughts? If no, where else has a good Sunday Brunch Buffett. I tried Fonda San Miguel today and feel like I wasted $100. |

Any suggestions on: (1) where to buy it; (2) how much/what cut(s) I need to serve 15 people, if goat is one of three meat entrees? |

Wine and drinks are excellent, brunch is good, parking is awful, service is inconsistent. Dinner can be hit or miss depending on your entree selection. I've had some really good stuff and some dishes that were very average. IMO, there are better places to go for an out-of-towner. I'd suggest La Condessa. |

I agree. I'm very curious about this cheese cart. |

Everybody loves ________, but me Brisket is excellent, but sauces are awful. Everything else is pretty damn good, but not sure if it justifies the wait/experience. |
|
|
Everybody loves ________, but me Two more from me: Asti and Fabi + Rosi. Granted, I've only been to each once, but did not think that they deserved the hype. |

Places that Hounds Love to Hate (but I like) I want sour cream on every single Mexican food I eat. Perhaps, even some sour cream flan? |
|
|
Places that Hounds Love to Hate (but I like) Bump for the Doritos Loco Taco Supreme! Also, contrary to Anthony Bordain, I do not find chicken McNuggets to be the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten. Far from gormet, no doubt, but not disgusting. |

Everybody loves ________, but me I'll second you on HPB&G. The place looked dirty and the food was meh. |

Places that Hounds Love to Hate (but I like) It's closed now, but Katz's. |

Everybody loves ________, but me I prefer Taco Deli to Torchy's - in a landslide. |
|

Everybody loves ________, but me I was thinking everybody, but whatever. |

The escolar was excellent. 3-4 nice sized pieces in a tempura-style batter and flash fried. Served with a sauce of some variety - tasty both with the sauce and on their own. |

Gin doesn't have to be painful. :-) |

Everybody loves ________, but me All Rudy's or just the one on 183? |

Everybody loves ________, but me Second that. |

We had the Sweet Corn Taro Tempura, Little Wing, Popcorn Escolar, Mooh Ping, Larb Sake, Beef Tongue, Panang Curry Fettuccine, and the Poached Shrimp. They were out of both the Pork Belly and the Duck. The wings, escolar, larb, and mooh ping were the stand outs. |

We went and throughly enjoyed it. Pasta dish(es) are regular meal sized, everthing else is Uchi-eque. We (2 people) ordered 4 apps, 3 mids, and 1 main (along with a split desert) and were stuffed. My ONLY dislike was the shrimp mid, which was served traditional style with the head-on. Not the worst thing ever, but the shrimp was really chewy with all the additional "parts"." Mayve traditional, but I did not like. Also, they were out of the two things that sounded best on the "large" menu (hence our app-centric order). I understand the desire to be fresh, but stocking the most popular items in sufficient quantities would be appreciated. All-in-all, a great dinner for 2 or under $100. I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars (probably more if the weren't out of so many tasty-sounding things on the menu). |

Everybody loves ________, but me I saw this on the Dallas board and was facsinated. I'll get you started with 2 places sure to engender discussion. Everybody loves Hut's and Matt's El Rancho but me. Mediocre burgers and terrible Tex-Mex. And no, the drinks are neither good enough nor cheap enough to save MER. |

I hate gin; but love Hendricks and New Amstersdam. All things considered, NA is as good as H, at about 1/3 the cost. |

Anybody found any new recommendations for tonight's Stanley Cup Final? Especially tough because it is competing with the NBA Eastern Conference Final (Game 7). |

Where is the best Spicy Fried Chicken in Austin on par with Prince's in Nashville The best chicken in Chicago is at Crisp. |

Second Bar & Kitchen / Bar Congress Disagree totally! The burger was sloppy and greasy and took almost an hour to get. Maybe this joint was great a few years ago, but it has fallen off the map now. |

Lol. I'll pass on the "frat-bag" scene; just looking for a little showmanship. |

Best meal in Austin with my wife suggestions please? I disagree with Fabi and Rosi. I've only been once and the menu was interesting. However, the actual food was mediocre and the wine list only so-so. Also, I was no fan of the bread and mayonaise. |

Does any bar in Austin still do drinks involving the bartender blowing fire to light the drink? |

Gordon ruined El Greco. Can it be saved from the RIP thread? After watching the episode, it seems that sasebastian was right about the microwave. |
