Has the Brite Spot in Echo Park gone completely downhill? I'm not a huge fan of the Brite Spot either. There are a few dishes that I enjoy there (breakfast quesadilla, french toast), but service has been going down hill IMHO. Has anyone else noticed how they've replaced real cream with non-dairy creamer on all the tables? Ghetto! Who wants to use fake creamer in their coffee at a diner? Not me. |

I've heard good things about Cliff's Edge in Silver Lake (Edgecliffe & Sunset). |

best fast food(ish) veggie burger? Orean's in Pasadena. http://oreanshealthexpress.com/ I like the veggie burger with grilled onions at Rick's in Silver Lake, too. |

Good ol' Rick's, on the corner of Fletcher & Riverside Drive. Sign outside reads "Best Food In L.A." That's a stretch, but their onion rings and fried zucchini are among the best out there. I like their veggie burgers, too. If you travel towards Silver Lake on Fletcher and make a left on Glendale Blvd., you'll find Gingergrass nearby. It's decent, too. http://www.gingergrass.com/ |

I had lunch earlier today at one of my fave vegetarian spots Vegan Glory. The young coconut juice was so delicious. The staff is very friendly and everything I've sampled has been super tasty. Being a creature of habit, I usually order the green curry with soy fish, but today I had the spicy eggplant with soy chicken. It was great. I was inspired to became quasi-vegetarian after dining with vegan friends here last year. If only there was a Vegan Glory closer to downtown/Silver Lake/Eagle Rock.... Any other Vegan Glory fans out there? |

The fries with their house garlic buttermilk ranch for dipping are divine (and vegetarian). I'm also a pescatarian and often order the sushi salad entrees. Very refreshing in the summertime. |

I went to Pazzo earlier today seeking the chevre and raspberry gelato that I saw just days ago and was disappointed to learn it was all gone. It looked so tasty when I was there on Tuesday, but I opted for a scoop of almond fig and a scoop of chocolate malt chip, which were delicious by the way. Today, I had the mascarpone and ginger snap. OMG. So delish. Last summer, I was there during a blackout and they were giving gelato away for free because it was melting. That was a great day. Try back in a few weeks for the chevre flavor because I see it there regularly. I highly recommend the mascarpone! :) |
