Paloma's Mexican Restaurant, Old Town Salinas Definantely will. The mole is now served with a large chicken breast that was perfectly cooked. Off topic but did you see the Coast Weekly's" Best of " issue. I have no quarrel with the food of the winners in the Mexican Food and Tacqueria categories, but restaurants in Salinas need to start putting themselves forward, because the best Mexican food in Monterey County is not in Pacific Grove. |

Paloma's Mexican Restaurant, Old Town Salinas Got take-out from Paloma's today and it was excellent. Had the Green Mole and the Mole Azteca plus an order of cheese enchiladas. My co-workers know their Mole, and they loved both types, as did I. Our enchilada fan said her order was very good. Orders came with excellent rice and beans and the tortillas were HOMEMADE.Definately will be back. The owner helped me carry my order to my car and food was hot and ready on time. A new restaurant might have to take a couple of weeks to work out the kinks, but Paloma's is definately worth a try. Open between 11 and 7 . |

You can order a whole pan of it at a very reasonable price. I have done this a couple of times and it has been the hit of the party! |

Tuna Sandwich at Dudley’s in Oldtown Salinas I have not tried it, but a co worker has and she said food was fresh and very good. I am not always near the East Side after six, but with the change of time I too am going to give it a try. Like I said, I saw it across from Mi Pueblo, but will check with my co worker.I noticed the truck because of the big yummy hamburger painted on the side. Always looking for a great burger! |

Same menu in both locations. Preference for Romie Lane is just a personal choice. I don't think either site has made to order agua fescas, but there is a choice of Mexican beverages from coke to fruit sodas and I think a horchata or tamarindo fresca that is dispensed from a beverage machine, All will be good, and the tortillas are homemade. |

La casa del sazon is a great choice. I prefer the original location on Romie Lane, but at that location there is only beer and wine as far as the alcohol goes and it is smaller. I have friends that swear by Gloria's on the East Side and I know they do serve breakfast but do not have a full bar. |

Need Restaurants for Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay Love casa del sazon, but I prefer original location at 22 West Romie Lane, Salinas. Coming from Santa Cruz there is the excellent Lemongrass Thai in Moss Landing. For dinner near the Aquarium I like Il Vecchio (Italian) at 110 Central which is right up the street.from the Aquarium. |

Breakfast Club in Seaside. Mundo's Cafe right on the Seaside/Monterey border. Fabulous sandwiches, Falafals and burgers. Ferdi's also in seaside- Lunch only M-F Cajun and Creole-good sandwiches-great milkshakes. Pho King also in Seaside, very good.vietmanese. and Baan Thai also in Seaside. La tortuga-in Seaside-mexican tortas, Pico de Gallo-Del monte blvd near the Navy School. Lulu's griddle in the middle-Wharf number 2-breakfast lunch and dinner. I like Il Vecchio in Pacific Grove (Near aquarium) for italian. |

Anything fantastic and eclectic within 30 miles of Santa Cruz? Might not be what you are looking for but Lemongrass Thai in Moss Landing is excellent. Full bar and great food. |

El Compita Truck – Mariscos al Estilo Sinaloa (Salinas) Time to update this post. El Compita has move to Smith St , right off East Alisal St. Hours are still the same. I love this place. The cervice de camarones is delicious. Have a single tostado or I get a large container (vaso) to go. This comes with tostada shells, limes, hot sauce and even some candy for $7.00. Take it home and have a feast. The oyster presentation looks amazing. Oysters, topped with cucumber and tomato and a large shrimp. Add your favorite hot sauce and you're in heaven. No seating, people are either standing around the truck eating or sitting on the curb eating. Limited parking on the street, but there is a large parking lot across from the truck.. Definately worth a visit anytime your in Salinas. |

Dinner and Breakfast in Monterey Their website-loulousgriddle.com- says they are open for dinner weds thru sun. First Awakenings is always good. In downtown Monterey there is Old Monterey Cafe (breakfast only) and Rosines. If staying on North Fremont try Mundos Cafe-2233 Fremont.. Open 7A-6P. Haven't tried them for breakfast but their sandwiches are SO GOOD! |

The go to pastry at this shop is the Bread Pudding. It is made everyday from the shops pastries and it is fabulous. I have ordered a whole pan for parties and it has always been a hit. It sells out quickly so get there early. Peninsula Pastries also has breads -Baguettes and Franchese- that are very good. The shop usually closes for all or part of August, so hurry in and give it a try. |

Will be in Boston for a few days in early June. Arrive at Logan at 5:45 AM on a Sat. and should get to my Beacon Hill area hotel around 6:45AM. No early check in, so after I drop off my suitcase, I am on the town until 3 pm. I was thinking of going to Braisserie Jo for breakfast and then doing a Chinatown walking tour or starting the day at the Clover truck that is now on the Commons. Any other suggestions are welcome. I will not have a car, but am a frequent visitor to Boston and know my way around the T. Thanks for your help. |
