ISO: Best salami in Toronto

a relative loves salami. Really loves it. I was hoping to find a sausage to make this a most excellent Christmas for him. Any suggestions? It certainly doesn't have to be Italian. Thanks!

Honeymoon in New York!

Can anyone comment on the likelihood of getting a seat at the bar at babbo on a Tuesday night? Any suggestions for strategy?

Honeymoon in New York!

Fabulous. So we will add Locanda Verde and pass on Blue Hill. Scarpetta is here in Toronto but maybe Del Posto? I see they have a table. We would love to get into Babbo. Maybe we will line up for a seat at the bar! Thanks so much.

Honeymoon in New York!

Thanks for letting me clarify that I actually meant a place where I can get a bagel. With lox.

Honeymoon in New York!

Hi all. We're coming in from Toronto right after our early December wedding for a few days of eating, culture and expensive hotel rooms (hopefully Soho/LES). Well, two out of three great things ain't bad. I'd love your advice on our plans, and any suggestions for making our plans better! In particular, my bride is all about dessert, and I haven't figured out when to fit in Chikalicious.

Sunday: Cocktails and dinner at Mas

Monday: Breakfast at City Bakery? Clinton Street Baking? Veselka? Somewhere else? Lunch at Cafe Sabarsky. Cocktails at PDT? Milk and Honey? Death and Co? Dinner at Degustation. Waitlisted at Brooklyn Fare.

Tuesday: Breakfast at Donut Plant? Lunch at Momofuku Ssam. Cocktails? Dinner at Blue Hill (too much farmhouse? Maybe something modern american?

Wednesday: Breakfast at Russ and Daughter? Is there another fabulous bagel place where we could sit down? Lunch at Eleven Madison Park.

What about some essential new york experiences, like the best carrot cake (her favourite by far)? A great pretzel? An awesome healthy salad in case she feels she's starting to sweat pork fat?

I'm really hoping we both come home excited and inspired by what's great about New York. Any help would be really, really appreciated.

mk, green zebra, sprout, or north pond?

This is really helpful. There's lots of farmhouse, locavore and new american cooking in T.O. but almost no good mexican so thanks for the nudge on that!

On a slightly different "need", we're arriving early friday and headig straight from our hotel near the water tower to the architectural conservancy by the AIC. It would be great to find a little bit of mid-morning susticance. A good pastry perhaps?

mk, green zebra, sprout, or north pond?

We're coming to Chicago from Toronto for a weekend in mid-April, and having so much trouble picking from among all the great places to eat. The original plan was Sprout on Friday and Blackbird on Saturday. But now I'm thinking about a new plan, and would love some feedback.
Friday lunch: Blackbird
Friday dinner Moto (we're on the wait list at Alinea, but I think that's the closest we'll come..)
Saturday dinner: Sprout or MK
Thank you all for the great information that's already on this board.
