matsukado

I tried them last week. It was excellent. Huge bowls, tasty broth (just right, not too salty), springy noodles, reasonable prices.

Where to buy Pork?

Maybe it's just me but I have I noticed that not many grocery store don't really carry much pork outside of pork chops, ground pork, and generic sausages. I have to go to a Japanese grocery to get my pork loins/belly. Can anyone recommend any good places to buy pork products especially rolled pork steak and pork filets?

where to find palm sugar in nyc or queens?

You can usually get them at Chinese grocery stores. I haven't looked for palm sugar so I can't vouch for the availability of it here in NYC. Maybe check out Hong Kong Supermarket or similar stores.

REAL thai food

Green Papaya in Flushing Chinatown is great.

Looking for a great Vietnamese Restaurant in Manhattan or Queens

Cong Ly on the corner of Hester and Chrystie.

Momofuku Ssam Bar - When to Go and What to Order?

Overpriced and not worth.

Momofuku Ssam vs. Noodle Bar?

Bother are mediocre and overrated.

Where to find the best egg rolls?

Where can I find the best egg rolls (and I don't mean the frozen kind that a lot of americanized chinese restaurants throw in the deep fryer) in NYC?

*Good* fried rice

Big Wing Wong has awesome fried rice.

Dinner in chinatown saturday for party of 9. New Green Bo?

Big Wing Wong on Mott Street. Awesome food and the best part cheap! No reservations needed.

Best Vegetarian in NYC

I don't recommend Pukk at all. They give very small portions for the high price you pay.

How long is the wait at Momofuku? Or other suggestions, please

Momofuku is terrible and overpriced. I recommend Sapparo on 49th or Minca on 5th street.

Do they have Thai Iced Tea there?

Bland Vegitarian

Gobo!

Hot Chocolate

Try Hersey's Premium Hot Chocolate or Ghirardelli Hot Chocolate.

Best Vegetarian in NYC

Best Vegetarian restaurant has to be Gobo - http://www.goborestaurant.com/

I like Red Bamboo and Angelica's Kitchen.

I agree about Zen Palate. It's not that great. Also avoid Kate's Joint.

Best Grandma Slice?

The best I have had so far is at Rocco's on 19th and 7th Ave. Are there any other places that have really good crispy grandma slices?

Cheap Food secrets

Chinese: Big Wing Wong on Mott

Vietnamese: Cong Ly on the corner of Chrystie and Hester

Dumplings: Dumpling House on Eldridge

Indian: Bengal Curry between Murray & Warren St

ISO Fresh Spinach Naan

Try the Indian Bread Company on Bleecker.

Best Vietnamese in Manhattan?

Cong Ly on the corner of Hester and Chrystie by far is the best Vietnamese place I have been to in NYC. Otherwise I have been pretty disappointed with the Vietnamese food in the city.

Dim Sum

There are no good dim sum places in Manhattan. You're better making the trek out to Flushing Queens.

Niki's Vietnamese Sandwiches

I think Niki's Bahn Mi sandwhiches are too small and overpriced.

Greenmarket prices

You're probably better off going to Chelsea Market or Astoria for fresh vegetables.

Dessert?!?

Check out the egg custard shop on Mott street in Chinatown (the name escapes me right now)..

Looking for a good food guide for Astoria/Flushing Queens area

I will be moving to Astoria next weekend near the Steinway/Broadway intersection. I have been searching for a good guide on restaurants in Astoria and Flushing to no avail. All I know all the good Asian food is in Flushing. I'm also interested other good food in the area as well. It's too bad Menupages doesn't cover Queens. Anyway..anyone have any advice?

Best pork dumplings

Dumpling House on Eldridge and Grand

Best Chinatown not dim sum, not noodles, not viet

Sorry but Dim Sum is best during brunch hours. It's not true dim sum if you plan on eating that late.

Best Thai Food?

Klong on St. Marks is good.
