URGENT: JAPANESE NEAR 43RD AND 6TH
i need to figure out dinner for TONIGHT in midtown. i love yakitori totto but we're going to a show at town hall so i'm hoping to find something right nearby because we're cutting it close, time-wise. would love an izakaya with good sushi.

NEW YORK HOUND IN SARASOTA, LOOKING FOR PERUVIAN AND ANY OTHER FAVES
hi, i am in sarasota for a few days and so far have had a couple of not-so-good meals, and one good lunch -- crab claws at the crab and fin.
i heard there was a good peruvian place, but don't have the name. i found a few by googling: el patio latino, javier's, selva grill, and red peruvian. anyone have any opinions on these, or know a better one?
i'd also be thrilled for any other advice. i love all kinds of food and am happy with more casual stuff. doesn't have to be fancy or anything.
thanks!
SEARCHING FOR REMARKABLE COLESLAW
anyone know of a specific place that serves slaw made with vidalias? thanks.
SEARCHING FOR REMARKABLE COLESLAW
i'd love to know more about what makes this slaw so good. is it a mayo-base, vinegar? does it have any unusual ingredients? thanks!
SEARCHING FOR REMARKABLE COLESLAW
hi --
i am a food writer doing some research about coleslaw and i'm looking for unusual versions from the south. ideally i would love to find restaurants serving coleslaw that make use of some local ingredients and flavors. i am not looking for recipes, but specifically need restaurants or take-out places.
thanks for your help.
steamed fish and other light seafood in chinatown
looking for restaurants that serve simple and extremely fresh fish dishes, like what melissa clark described recently in the times:

thanks!
best PDRs?
i'm looking for a private dining room for 6 people somewhere downtown. hoping not to spend a fortune but want a nice table, though it doesn't have to be fancy. food-wise i'm flexible. italian? american? nothing too high concept... thanks for any reccos.
churros lady for hire?
my good friend is getting married in just a few weeks and is desperately trying to find a churros lady to fry-on-site. anyone got leads for me to track down?
thanks!
BRIDPORT, VT
hi,
i am going to be in bridport for just a few days right before labor day. i'll be staying in a house and want to know where to shop to cook (especially farm stands and wherever else there's local produce/meat/cheese,etc.).
restaurant tips are very welcome too, especially breakfast.
car-happy and willing to explore if there's great stuff a little out of the way...
thanks!
Bourdain in New Orleans
why regret it? go now. i was just there and the food was fantastic. if you don't get out of the tourist version of NO, it seems like katrina never happened, but a quick trip to the ninth ward or gentilly is really alarming.
Best olive selection in Queens?
oh i miss living in astoria mostly for the olive bar at titan!
Floor plan of Flushing food court located on Main St between Maple and Sanford (L&N)
