So....do we have any fans of the food truck gathering downtown by the Symphony I work downtown and love having the variety. I have tried most of the trucks, but haven't tried the meet pies yet. My favorites are Nammi for the Tofu Banh Mi, Ssham for the tacos, The Butcher's Son for the sliders; Green House Truck has amazing salad; City Street Grille has Rolled Gold which is Fried Chicken tenders inside a Hong Kong Waffle covered with peppercord gravy. At $11 but well worth it. Quite possibly, the best thing I ever ate! I am not impressed with Texas Delicioso. The have one oven and they serve custom pizzas. The problem is they can't keep up with the crowds. Major time suck. Tin Star Taco Taxi has great tacos. I am not a fan of Dos Paisano. Poor quality ingredients, gristly meat, etc. Let me know what you thought about the meat pie. |

Snow Crab Legs in Dallas/Plano/Allen/McKinney/Frisco Dodie's in Frisco used to be my go to place for snow crab legs, but they changed ownership last year and the quality/flavor went downhill. I'm looking for a new go to place. I tried The Boiling Crab in Garland, but don't like having the crab drenched in "butter" in order to get the flavor profile. (They deliver the crab in plastic bags that are filled with butter and whatever spice profile you choose. There is no way to get them fat free.) I'm looking for a place that boils their crab legs in spice mixture that imparts the flavor during the boil. Any suggestions? |

Neiman Marcus in Willowbend mall 3rd floor restaurant has a BTA - grilled cheese with bacon, tomato and avacado. Comes with Soup (I love their tortilla soup) and a cup of fruit for $13. So good!!! |

In search of Indian Ginger/Garlic Shrimp I recently returned from Hyderabad, India and am in search of the best dish I ate while there. It was on the appetizer menu and it is a deep fried shrimp with lots of fresh ginger, garlic and red chili. Garnished with cilantro. Served dry. OMG fabulous! I live in Plano and work in downtown Dallas. There are a plethora of Indian restaurants, I have done an internet search and have been to a few restaurants in search of this dish but haven't found it. I tried Iravat Bistro but they serve it wet with gravy. I tried The Curry pot and it is close, but not quite the same dish. The shrimp was small and seemed previously frozen and cooked. I found a recipe online that looks like it but have not tried it. Here is a link to the pic/recipe. http://www.indian-tamil-recipe.com/gi... Wondering if anyone can point me to a restaurant that serves this dish? |
