Providence - Anniversary Roll-back Pricing for Tasting Menu (Again)?

Fromallsides!! Thank you so much for putting this on chow. I have been debating whether to try Saam or Providence and you've made up my mind for me. Can't beat roll back prices! Thanks again!

Killer French Food w/o the Killer Pricetag?

Wow! Thanks for all the great suggestions. I'm a newbie to Chowhound and it's so great to get the 'real deal' info from you guys. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again.

Killer French Food w/o the Killer Pricetag?

I want to introduce my kids to french food. Can anyone suggest a restaurant in the LA area- I live in Westlake Village, that's very good but not priced to break the bank? Thanks-

Agoura Hills help..

Sadly, there is a serious lack of good cheap eats here in the land of chain restaurants! I feel your pain as we moved here from Santa Monica where good thai abounds. No really good Thai here, nor Chinese. There is an Indian place called Bollywood on Hampshire my brother says is solid. Natural Cafe is good and basic, but mostly, my friend, you are out of luck. We drive when we want some diverse food!

Quality sushi in the Westlake/Agoura area?

We are sadly lacking in killer sushi in our area. Sayka on Kanaan is fresh and decent. Shibuya is good but pricey and don't sit at the bar cuz they pack you in like sardines. Has anyone tried Hanami off of Lost Hills next to Albertson's? Very very good but limited menu. Special rolls are very fresh and tasty- try the shitake mushroom roll. Stay away from the baked oysters though- never had worse anywhere. Stay away also from Agoura Sushi- used to be 'to die' when Megu was running it but he sold and it is terrible now.

Sam Wo's

Oh yeah- forgot to add we live in LA- it's a long drive for that cold noodle roll!

Sam Wo's

Yum! that roll is the best thing there and the atmosphere is pretty unusual as well. Occasionally we throw the kids in the car and tell them we're going for chinese food. After a few hours of mystery, they scream "SAM WO'S!!!!" Duck dry noodle there can be really tasty too!

Kyushu Ramen - Van Nuys

I find Nippon ramen to be bland and generally not worth eating. Haven't tried Kyushu but has anyone had the pleasure of Daikokuya in Little Tokyo? Ramen is good and they have a KILLER pork and rice bowl. The pork is everything pork can be when it's good. Yum. Gyoza are a pass there though. Jinya in Studio City is delicious- the best ramen I have found. Their original Tonkatsu is to die. It is rich and silky and full of pork flavor, and it's that good everytime. Koraku off of Van Nuys is pretty good too. They have good curry katsu and gyoza as well. In a totally different realm but along the lines of a noodle soup, has anyone tried mandarin Deli on Reseda? Killer beef stewed noodle with handmade noodles and to die steamed and pan fried potstickers!!!
