Real Sichuan (spicy) near KOP

Do you get the shrimp with dry pepper at Han's? I have tried the Chicken with dry peppers several dozen times but never the shrimp!

Real Sichuan (spicy) near KOP

The lamb hotpot is very similar to the "drypot" you get at Han.

Yes, the poached pork in chili oil is exactly how you describe it and it was a recommendation from the owner when I asked him for some specialties.

I have not found a bad dish yet but would probably not rave about their Hot & Sour soup. Prefer Han's Dan Dan noodles and Kung Pao slightly more.

Possible to find good, reasonably-priced eats near Rittenhouse?

Unless additional guidance is provided on what constitutes "reasonable prices" (since that is subjective), I am afraid you will get a very diverse list of restaurants.

If you are looking for $30-$50/head, try Matyson, a.kitchen, Parc and specials at Lacroix.

Sunday Brunch near Ambler

Bella 19, a Mediterranean influenced small restaurant in Cedars (near Skippack) is really good and has a unique charm.

They also roast their own coffee and bake their own bread.

Badoit availability in the Philly area?

They serve it at Bibou. Call Charlotte to see where they get it from.

Where to buy affordable pile of demitasse spoons for party?

I often serve small bites on "Chinese soup spoons" which you can buy for around $1 each at restaurant supply places or in Chinatown.

Brunch Near the Art Museum

For an upscale brunch, try the Fountain Room or Swann Lounge at the Four Seasons.

How a quirky homey experience, try Sabrina's.

Have not been to fig but heard good things.

British/Irish food

Yes, T of B still carries prepared and other items in their freezer. I just bought some pork pies, sausage rolls, white pudding, etc after our afternoon tea this weekend.

Real Sichuan (spicy) near KOP

Have been there a few times since they opened. They have their own sign now - R&Z's Ping Pong, however, it is still hard to stop in a crowded strip mall. It is close to Panera.

Everything I have tried has been delicious and would recommend the Wontons in Chili oil, Poached pork in chili oil and Lamb hotpot.

The dishes have a depth of flavor without being overpoweringly spicy.

Hacienda la Michoacana - Phoenixville

We had a cactus salad appetizer which was not bad, the "Capitan cocktail" appetizer was just OK.

For entrees we tried the Mole Poblano, which was too one dimensional and sweet (I could have gotten a better version from a box), the pulpo (octopus) was cooked well but served with the same generic sauce and mixture of onions and tons of bell peppers as the shrimp dish (tiny shrimp).

My friend commented that his bistek was OK, though hard to mess that up.

Service was friendly but slow. Overall left me expecting a lot more for the $50 +/person in a Mexican restaurant.

Hacienda la Michoacana - Phoenixville

We were there this past Friday for dinner. $100 for 2 pitchers of watered down margaritas. Food was sub par at best.

They need to fix the issues soon or become the next restaurant to die in that space.

Peking Duck

From what I understand, the quality in both these locations is the same - which is to say it is very good.

Reataurants along 202 corridor b/t KOP & West Chester - Suggestions Needed!

Gilmore's or Avalon in West Chester.

Han Dynasty in Exton (for Sichuan)

Seasons 52 in KOP can have OK dishes on their seasonal menu and Capitol Grill has some decent steakhouse stuff, but on the pricey side,

Peking Duck

Sang Kee (in Chinatown, have not tried the one in Wynnewood) and Margaret Kuo's serve good Peking duck.

Actually, I recently had a very good Peking duck at Susanna Foo's in Radnor.

Everest Grill in Broadaxe

Zubin Mehta probably grew up eating the same food as I did. Not many restaurants in India serve Parsi cuisine either. PM me if you want some Parsi recipes or be invited to a rare Parsi feast I occasionally throw.

More on Indian lunch buffets in western suburbs

Agree that Taste of India is probably the best buffet in the KOP area. I also like Spice Kitchen in Trooper and Dosa Chat House is good for Chicken Makhani, Chappatis, Dosas, Bhel and other chaat items as well as Indo-Chinese dishes.

Unfortunately, my visit to Chinnar about a month ago left me wanting more - more flavor, more variety, more succulent chicken - you get the idea, not a pleasant experience other than the mango "juice" they serve,

Spice Kitchen, new Indian restaurant in Trooper, PA

Regarding the fish, this is one of the few restaurants where I have seen "Koliwada" fish on the menu outside of India. Have not tried it yet at Spice Kitchen, but it is on my mental list.

Everest Grill in Broadaxe

What's interesting to note is that Everest's menu features Persian and Indian dishes not Indo-Persian (aka Parsi) dishes, which originated when the Persians migrated from Persia to India around 700 AD.

Looking forward to trying it.

Spice Kitchen, new Indian restaurant in Trooper, PA

Its been a while since someone provided an update, so thought I would say that the food and service have improved in the past few months.

What I like about Spice Kitchen compared to the other places is that the food is good, not overly oily like other restaurants and ... this is the key point... they serve fresh / heated Naan bread tableside. This is how they do it in India and it makes a big difference in your dining experience.

Where can I find pork belly out near Collegeville

Don Pedro meats in Phoenixville carries it.

If you want high quality pork belly, order it from Country Time Farm http://www.countrytimefarm.com/countrytimefarm/Welcome.html at the Phoenixville farmer's market, but you have to buy the whole pork belly. They supply many restaurants in Philly, including Vetri.

Chinese in Collegeville/Trooper area

Will be hard to beat Han Dynasty in Royersford.

Veekoo, also in Royersford is not bad for Americanized Chinese. Jasmine Asian Bistro in Trappe is not bad IMHO and delivery is a plus. Haven't tried Jasmine Cafe in Eagleville.

While not Chinese, there are decent Thai options - Thai Place in Phoenixville and Thai Spice in Limerick. We even have a Philippine cuisine place in Phoenixville now (the old location of Thai L'Elephant).

ribs in Philly or 'burbs

There is another place in Germantown Pike in Collegeville called Phil's Famous BBQ.

Going to Osteria

It is a great dessert - slightly sweet and salty.

Shola's opening a restaurant in the Piazza. Finally. I hope.

Why is there such a big deal about paying in advance?

At the original StudioKitchen location, you had to remember to bring cash. At the newer location paying via Paypal was added and that made it more convenient.

I coordinate and attend many private dining events, all of which are pre-paid. This helps the restaurant with planning and controlling costs and as long as they are reasonable with their refund policy (72-48 hrs), I see it as being a fair practice.

Beef wellington?

I have seen this classic dish off and on at various restaurants and had them at the Dilworthtown Inn and Duling Kurtz.

However, I would encourage you to try this at home, it is not as difficult and it might initially appear, especially if you use store bought pastry.

Indian Dinner Buffets on Saturday Near Phoenixville

Unfortunately, I was not impressed by Aman's the last time I visited (about a year ago). Will give them another shot.

Lacroix's chef's table?

Haven't been recently, but it used to be a pretty good deal.

Indian Dinner Buffets on Saturday Near Phoenixville

Technically, Dosa Chaat House is in Eagileville and has good dosas and Indo-chinese dishes as well.

Devi in Exton has great vegetarian South Indian options

Taste of India in the gateway shopping center is probably the best northern Indian cuisine in the area.
