I didn't see that map, but obviously would be v. helpful.

Here's one I did find, but covers only bars - It's pretty cool, but isn't likely to help my 3 martini lunch habit.

- Langer's - No description necessary.

There is reportedly a Zankou Chicken here, although I've never been to this location.

- Hungry Cat - Great seafood. Aguably over-priced, and under-portioned, but IMO, can't argue about the taste. Delicious.

- Grand Central Market - Market with numerous eateries in stalls. Think Pike's Market in Seattle with a decidedly more Latin American feel. Good Mexican lunch and a place that makes some really good fresh tortillas, among others.

Good eats by Union Station

- Phillipe's - No description necessary

- Spring Street Smoke House - Decent BBQ. Not listed in many "top" lists, and probably not on my top list, but it's good and it's just off the redline.

I work downtown and noticed the other day that I'm only two blocks from a redline station. Seems like a great opportunity to get some tasty bites for lunch or after work... Unfortunately, since I live on the westside, the stations aren't really in neighborhoods that I know well and the restaurants I have been to, aren't really very close to the Metro Stops.

So, I'm hoping to get together a list of easy to get to restaurants at some redline (or I guess purpleline?) stations.

The easiest way I can think of doing this is that I will respond to this post additional posts of the metro stops. Hopefully, we can post our favorite restaurants under each stop's post and get a convenient way to browse? For example under the response titled "Westlake/MacArthur Park, people might respond with posts about Langer's and other restaurants within a few blocks.

I hope that's not too confusing. If someone else has a better idea let's try to get it to work!Anyway, one way or another, this will be an interesting experiment.
