Oops, just read the recent reviews, maybe not for you. I liked it when I went and limited myself to appetizers.

Sourdough in San Francisco [split from Quebec board]

Get the Acme sourdough batard from the ferry building. Buy it on the day they are leaving and wrap it in plastic. It's my favorite bread in the bay area since the early 1980's in Berkeley. I take it to the Midwest when I go back for my relatives.

Best place in SF/East Bay for Belgian beer?

Healthy Spirits at 15th and Castro has a ton of Belgian beer. Here is a link to their beer list. http://docs.google.com/View?docid=dctx4rfg_0d2mp79gp

Best food when you're sick

I am a San Franciscan planning a trip to New York and have had the flu the last couple of days after weeks of reading this board. My fever thoughts have had this board in mind and I have been eating Tom Kha Gai for three days, mainly because I have a great Thai restaurant at the end of my street (Thai Corner, nee Thai House, corner of Market and 15th).

My question: What do you need when you're sick?

There must be a million things I don't even think about. What's yours?

Thanks for being here,

Good fast eats between SF and Sonoma

I like Papa's Taverna for Greek. It's at 5688 Lakeville Highway. You can then take Highway 116 on to Sonoma. It's right on the way. Their grilled octopus is really good. and you can sit and look out at the Petaluma Slough.

Tableside Caesar Salad in SF?

Alfred's does it. House of Prime Rib does it's own tableside salad with a raw egg-based dressing that I really liked.

Fresh Olives to Cure

There are 2 trees at Pacific and Battery (across form the old ship saloon) that used to just drop a ton of olives on the sidewalk. You could pull up a car, drop a tarp, shake the trees and run. Saturdays and Sundays the area is deserted. I always felt someone should take advantage of them, provided you have the drive to cure your own olives. (I don't)
