Let's see how close they come.
February 2012 Openings and Closings
And it seems like you made a wise decision to skip the "Grand Opening VIP Reception"...

anyone been to Taste? In the old Roly Poly spot
Perhaps the sandwich was "just ok" and service was disorganized because you made them create something for you not on their menu.
Any recommendations for dinner before a show at the Agganis Arena?
This thread might help.

Zing Pizza - Porter Square
From their Facebook page
"Our vacation over and we are sched to reopen Tues Aug 30 BUT because of major staffing changes we will be closed until further notice. To our customers and friends we are very sorry for the inconvenience and hope that once we reopen the doors you all will reappear. Best, Mark Ostow (owner)"
The owner also provided an email address, if you wanted to contact him for further details.

Andrew Zimmern in Boston filming Bizarre Foods episode
Repugnant? That's a little harsh. He's trying to make a food-based living, just like you. Well, except he has a much larger audience.

As greygarious said, that list is titled "Last Year's Ethnic Food Sales Locations"
Wegman's- looks like it's really happening?
And now they're coming to Burlington in Spring 2013

Looking for Good Places that do takeout on the Cambridge/Somerville line
While their pizza has haters and fans on this board, City Slicker Cafe is in that area and they deliver. I've had good luck with some of their pastas and sandwiches. Their steak tips are pretty good as well.

ISO ice cream cake Boston, MA to Nashua, NH
Most supermarkets still stock Carvel cakes. Another chain option is Coldstone Creamery.
Both Toscanini's and JP Licks has ice cream cakes, if you order in advance

Recommendations near Park Plaza Hotel?
Just FYI, the Parish Cafe is closed until Feb 8 for renovations.
Individual Pieces of High-Quality Bar Glassware?
You could try Didriks in Cambridge, (near Concord and Huron Aves)

Or Koo de Kir on Charles St in Beacon Hill

Davis Square Suggestions
Some of my favorites right in the square are Redbones (bbq), Gargoyles (brunch, bar menu, date restaurant), Dave's Fresh Pasta (sandwiches, also has a selection of local produce and meats). A short walk to Mass Ave will get you to Greek Corner and Qingdao Garden.
For delivery, foodler.com has a good selection of the choices in the area.
Need rec's: "Rice and Spice"
ha! You can take them literally and go to "Spice and Rice" in Inman Sq. - Decent but fairly uninspired Thai food and sushi.

Trader Joe's In Fresh Pond
Blumie, the last time I saw the plans, they had blocked off access to/from that side street. The only access was from FP Parkway. I don't know if that's changed or not.
Trader Joe's In Fresh Pond
Every TJ's I've ever been to has nightmare parking... Mem Drive, Arlington, Brookline, W. Newton, Framingham. Is that how they keep their prices down, save money on asphalt and white paint?
What is going on with the Lord Hobo?
Their menu is now up, looks good...

Best Quick, Fresh Breakfast Sandwich/Burrito/Wrap Downtown - and it is definitely NOT Boloco!
When I grabbed an Iced Tea at the Au Bon Pain on Boylston recently, the cashier said they were using fresh eggs now in their breakfast sammies (compared to the oddly tasteless frozen-then reheated egg material they were using). I haven't tried them out yet, but generally their bread/meat/cheese component is decent so if the egg part is good it might be a quick/fresh option for you.
Good cider donuts close to Boston?
Wilson Farms in Lexington makes them fresh outside on the weekends. I think they're pretty tasty. http://www.wilsonfarm.com/
I've also seen cider donuts at the Copley Farmers Market (Tuesdays and Fridays).
More fast food: Raising Cane's opening in Allston
Since none of us really like fast food around here but we all like to talk about it. I thought I'd mention that Raising Cane's, a fast food chicken finger restaurant?! is opening in the old McDonald's location on Comm Ave near B.U. They have a sign in the window but I don't know when it's slated to open.
The chain's owner was one of the "Secret Millionaires" on that Fox show awhile back.

Fall 2009 Openings and Closings
On further research evidently the "London based restaurant group" is the Marlon Abela Restaurant Company (MARC)

Fall 2009 Openings and Closings
Walked by the old Excelsior space on Boylston today and a large sign was up for "Bistro du Midi - a taste of Provence" supposedly opening sometime this fall. According to the internet it's coming from "A fast growing, London based restaurant group".

Bartley's Featured
DDD has featured a few MA places since it started - Kelly's Diner in Somerville, Mike's Diner in Boston, JT Farnham's in Essex and Charlie's Diner in Spencer.
This trip to MA along with Bartleys, he's hitting Morin's Diner in Attleboro. Not sure where else.
