The sample menus werer prior to the name change, so I'm not sure if they're still valid. And they dropped the # of taps from 72 to 24. Given all of the shuffling, I don't have high hopes for this place, but I'll definitely be giving them a shot. I do think that 34 East is too similar of a name to Bar 31. At least with this place and The Lucky Well opening soon, we should have some new places to try,

I'm tentatively excited for this. Ambler would really benefit from a place with good healthy food and some good taps. My only concern is that in this article, the owners use the phrase "farm to table" which is usually code for $30 entrees. Dettera, the place across the street, tried that and it didn't go so well.

Bridget's steakhouse in Ambler is 10 minutes from NW and has this on the menu. I haven't ordered it, but most of their food is usually really well done. Pricey, but well done.

Anybody been yet? Apparently it's been open for a couple of weeks now. Yelp has 2 positive reviews, but the first is so positive and over the top that I suspect it's a shill. The website isn't up yet,

My wife drove by and noted that there was a tarp over the sign. Anybody have any idea what happened? I was in there a couple of times and the food was decent and there seemed to be patrons. I did have an unfortunate experience when I stopped in after work for a beer and was charge 6 bucks for a Bass. That's a pretty high price point for a bar/restaurant that rural.

I drove by the old Drafting Room on Bethlehem PIke today and they have a sign up that Andy's Diner is coming soon. A quick google turned up that the building sold for $1.1MM ($0.3MM less than it sold for in 1998) and it's the same Andy's Diner that has a couple of locations in the area, the closest being on Ridge in Conshohocken. I've never eaten there, does anyone have an opinion or any info on the opening timeframe?

I had heard that Shanachie was closing on 3/31 to be replaced by Kildare's. Then I heard a seafood/oyster house, then I ran into someone who claimed to know someone affiliated with Ambler and they said a restaurant group had bought the space but was undecided on what to do with it.

Are they open yet this year? Does anyone know the hours or have a menu?

I'll be in town with my wife and a couple of family members for the Boston marathon. We're staying at the Westin Copley Place and were specifically looking for 2 types of restaurants that would be within walking distance, a mile or so:

1. A good seafood place (preferably something that's not a tourist trap).

2. A bar with good food. Someplace that has great burgers and sandwiches, and preferably a decent beer list.
