Fettuccine Alfredo

Fettuccini Alfredo waits for no one! It is best served immediately, with your guests sitting down at the table, with fork in hand! This recipe is basically the one I use except for me adding a little sprinkling of fresh minced Italian parsley on the top before serving.

Chocolate Almond Cake - Staten Island restaurant

Thinking back... I have to say that this restaurant was there a good 25 years+ ago. I tried to check the area on google that my memory remembers and I can't pinpoint it. I just remember that if you were getting off the ferry, you would make a right, go past the concrete-like building on the left (city hall, police station, library???) and then possibly walk another block or two before you make a left. POSSIBLY walk up a tiny hill, and the restaurant was on the right hand side. I want to say that the restaurant wasn't right on the street... possibly had to go down a couple steps and it was on a basement level??? Back then, it was a really popular restaurant and it wasn't cheap. NY Times might have had a review on it and mentioned the cake.

Thank you all for your help. It's nice to know that people care to help other people. As you can tell, I'm not a Staten Island girl. My Dad lived in the area and took the ferry to downtown every day, so I would visit him and that's why I remember this cake (ground almonds in the cake batter).

I don't remember the name of the restaurant and the 2 that you mention, doesn't ring any bells. I just know that the restaurant was 'known' for this cake.

Chocolate Almond Cake - Staten Island restaurant

Years ago, there was a restaurant (sorry, I don't remember the name) that wasn't too far from the Ferry Entrance that I still remember! The food was excellent, but one of the best desserts I have ever had, was their Chocolate Almond Cake that I still dream about. (Yes, I know... I have no life!) LOL

I don't know if the restaurant is still in business, but I am looking for the recipe. Anyone have it?
