Eurostar suspended - need place for fabulous vegetarian dinner in London
I solicited all of your advice for a quick trip to paris. Now that the eurotunnel is on fire, my train has been canceled and I'm going to London instead. What I need is a recommendation for an amazing cheer me up dinner. Any cuisine or restaurant type is fine. Price is not a concern. Only requirement is that I be able to get a vegetarian meal( eggs cheese dairy are fine) that is so good I'm almost happy the train was canceled. If there are nearby hotels that could help me make reservations, that would be helpful ( I need a place to stay too, having just canceled my Paris hotel).
Thanks!!
L'atelier de Joel Robuchon - for a vegetarian?
Thanks, I've already made a reservation at Maceo for dinner, but I think these two could be good for lunch. I'd actually hoped Mon Vieil Ami would work, as it seems close to Berthillon.
L'atelier de Joel Robuchon - for a vegetarian?
Since my trip is a grand total of 35 hours, I don't have time to go somewhere and change plans if I don't like it. So, yes, I'm doing some advance planning
Everyone else: thanks for all the replies, they've been enormously helpful!!
L'atelier de Joel Robuchon - for a vegetarian?
Thanks, yes I'm staying there.
I've looked at L'arpege / Maceo, but I thought L'arpege wasn't open on the weekends (I'm trying to plan dinner for saturday and either a late lunch/early dinner for sunday). Do you know if that has changed?
L'atelier de Joel Robuchon - for a vegetarian?
I'd thought about having dinner or lunch there during a short trip to Paris, but thought maybe it wouldn't be a good idea as I'm a vegetarian (eggs, cheese, milk are all fine. fish is not). However, I've just booked my hotel and it turns out that the restaurant is right downstairs. Given that it's so convenient, I'm wondering if maybe I should give it a try.
So, if any vegetarians have been there, I'd love to hear what you thought, if you'd recommend it (and which meal might be a better choice) and the approximate cost if possible (so I can compare with other restaurants).
Shanghai restaurants with vegetarian options
Thanks, those all look good!
I'm just wondering if nicer places such as Jade on 36 will make me something vegetarian even if it's not on the menu, or if that's less common in Shanghai than it is in NYC. I think we're set now for casual dinners and lunches, but I'm still looking for a couple of places with interesting food and great settings/views. M on the Bund seems to have enough vegetarian options, but looks like it could be bland?
Some of my favorites here are Tabla, Pure Food and Wine, Buddakan, Hangawi and La Bottega. A garden or roof deck is a big plus.
Shanghai restaurants with vegetarian options
I'm going to be in shanghai in a few weeks, and I'm wondering which restaurants (both causal and more formal) will definitely have something vegetarian. I can't find any online menus, and would probably need to make reservations before I leave.
Laris
Simply Thai
La Villa Rouge
Mesa
Le Garcon Chinois
If there are any other restaurants that you can recommend that have both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, please let me know!
