I have 2 days off in Bangkok--where do I NEED to go? Curt, your map is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! I cannot thank you ENOUGH! It will be an incredible reference to me, I'm sure. it is also funny you mentioned the doll museum, as I actually MAKE dolls! upon doing some further research, Chinatown appeals to me greatly. I may end up staying in a hotel there, as Chinatowns in America are always my favorite place, and I know Bangkok Chinatown has a long history! I will definitely be reading some of your other posts to use as a resource!! thanks again! |

I have 2 days off in Bangkok--where do I NEED to go? traveling for work in Asia in September, and with flights/weekends I've found myself with a Saturday and Sunday night break in Bangkok. I have never been to Thailand, and I know that I will never see & do all that I want to see & do in just 2 days, but would love tips on your favorite food spots in Bangkok (I wouldn't mind some restaurant recommendations, but I also love the idea of good street food!) also, what are some essential things to see, esp. art-related and off-the-beaten-path types of things? thank you so much, I really appreciate the input! |

one Sunday off in Shanghai--where do I NEED to go? I have one day off in Shanghai, a Sunday in September--I am very excited but also know that I'll never see and eat as much as I will want to see and eat. What are some suggestions for someone who is an English-speaker only but also has no fear? (I have been to night markets in Taipei and I absolutely ADORED the food). If you only had one day, what would you see & eat? Thank you for your time & suggestions! |

Montreal--for serious foodies/beerfans/travelers?? I'll be visiting Monday through Thursday morning I've been to Montreal once before & have made the trek to Schwartz's... we already have our reservation for our "night out" at Au Pied de Cochon (for my first foie gras!--I'm SO excited!) as for cheap/good-buy eats, we're planning on checking out the following: any other/better suggestions for serious beer/brewery fans, and/or for tasty-but-cheap/good-buy eats in Montreal? also, besides strolling/exploring, any suggestions for non-touristy, thrifty things to do while in the city? THANK YOU!!!!! |

what is the best falafel in Boston? that is INSANE!!!! I LOOOOVE Tangiers in Hartford and was wishing I could take my friend there!!! it was, in part, how the "best falafel in Boston" discussion began between us....Tangiers is BY FAR the best falafel *I* have EVER tasted, too! I love their market as well, and the old-fashioned diner-y seating in the back where they prepare your food right in front of you!!! ahhhh memories. thanks for your Boston suggestions, though!!! |

favorite spots in Chinatown for a tourist who is not afraid of authentic food? thank you all for all of your input!!! I was not able to explore SF Chinatown as much as I had hoped to, but did want to report that I enjoyed breakfast at AA Bakery on the corner of Jackson & Stockton! really really delicious traditional breakfast--"you tiao" and the sort of "porridge" (what is it called?) that goes with it... also great pineapple buns there, and super friendly service! |

favorite spots in Chinatown for a tourist who is not afraid of authentic food? I'll be visiting San Fran from Boston for the first time. in most major US cities, Chinatown is my favorite place. However, I feel a bit overwhelmed by what I've heard about San Fran's VERY LARGE Chinatown... for someone who will only be in town for 3 days--are there any food places/items in SF Chinatown I SHOULD NOT miss while I am in town? I am not afraid of very authentic food (I've been to Taipei) thanks in advance for any suggestions! |

what is the best falafel in Boston? I just watched the PBS documentary "Sandwiches you will like" and heard of Sepal in Watertown, but I guess it's closed now? (or does it still exist somewhere?) I have a friend who has NEVER had a falafel sandwich in his life, and want to take him out for the best one possible to introduce him to it. what're your suggestions? |

where to eat in Pittsburgh (possibly near Mexican War Streets area)? I'll be in Pitty for work Monday through Wednesday and wondering what some of your favorite spots are, perhaps most specifically in the Mexican War Streets area? (or easy access to/from that area?). I am a fan of public transit so while I will have a rental car, at the end of the workday I get tired of driving and would love to walk/take a bus.... thanks for any tips! |
