Pasadena is weak!

I noticed none of Clare's recs are actually in Pasadena, but in neighboring cities. S. Pas is its own city and ought to stand alone for its great neighborhood spots. Ditto on Alhambra and Eagle Rock. In Pasadena itself, I like Europane for croissants and egg salad. Not much else comes to mind, honestly, and I love Pasadena.

Best Banh Mi in DFW?

I've had a lot of banh mi sandwiches in town. But maybe someone can please recommend really GOOD banh mi: fresh baquettes, lots of snappy veggies, high quality meats, good selection. It's kind of an afterthought at most pho joints. Please steer me right.

Bonus points for being a banh mi-specific spot. Bonus bonus points for being in N. Dallas (where I work) or N.E. Tarrant Co. (where I live; i.e. Grapevine, Southlake, Keller, etc.).

Interesting eats in NE Tarrant County??

Don't know why I haven't been to Anamia's, but I've heard a lot about them. I'll try it soon. Totally agree about City Hall. Upscale for the neighborhood, but worth it and sorely needed. Chef-driven food is rare in this area.

Thanks for the recs! I agree with you on Nothing Bundt Cakes and Biscuits. Love 'em. I keep hoping for good things from Manny G's but I've been disappointed one too many times. Can't wait to try El Taco H and Buon Giorno.

Help, I'm surrounded by franchises!! Looking for real food. It feel like everything here caters to the lowest common denominator tastebuds. Any recommendations for the Grapevine-Southlake-Colleyville-Keller area? I've already exhausted Roanoke. Don't feel like driving to Haltom City.
