EVOO v.s. Regular Olive Oil- for Making Mayo?

I will try adding some peanut oil to the olive oil. Thanks for the heads-up on different oils Terrier Boy! I won't use canola either as it is GMO. I love olive oil and I love the taste. I am just not up to babying it to get it to emulsify. Thank you all for the hints and experience!

What Oil for Mayo?

I tried making aioli with just extra virgin olive oil and it wouldn't emulsify until I added a different oil. I forget the oil I used, possibly peanut, but I needed to add about a third more volume with a different oil to get it to emulsify.

What Oil for Mayo?

I am starting to make my own mayonnaise, and made the mistake of using extra virgin olive oil and the result stayed separate and didn't work. I want to stay away from canola, corn, soy (all gmo) and am not crazy about oils requiring extraction using hexane. What oils do you use to make mayonnaise? In my kitchen, the oil needs to be organic.

Recipe Title Next to Recipe?

Is it just me or does this bother anyone else? Online recipes NEVER have the title anywhere near the ingredient list or directions. I wish they would put them close together! The title is always on top of the page and then there is photo and other stuff before the rest of the recipe.

I love to juice, but the thought of separating out all of the vegetables and fruits--cutting some-- and juicing them and cleaning out the machine is just too much to contemplate and I end up not juicing.

You know, I am thinking one solution to my problem is just to buy grass-fed Ghee and then i don't have to refrigerate it. I can make garlic bread really easily since it is already at room temperature. I will try some of your other solutions if i buy stick butter. I find it SO annoying when butter doesn't taste fresh. Since i am single i don't use a pound of stick butter very quickly. I will try putting it in glass jars. I used to wrap the box of butter in aluminum foil but that didn't work. I don't like to use plastic at all, but sometimes it is unavoidable.

Thanks, That is good to know. I am disappointed with the organic meat selection at Whole Foods. Jimbo's is much better. I wonder if they have Homegrown Meats? I also buy wild venison and wild boar.

Try Trader Joe's organic 100% grass fed ground beef. It is a deal at $7.99 a pound. I think it is delicious and then grill it in bacon fat! woohoo!

Oh, I meant to mention that I sat on the left in a seat and I saw the WHOLE stage. I could not hear most of what they said for commentary because the sound was garbled. I asked a younger 30ish guy if he could understand and he said no, it just sounded like mumbling, so it wasn't my bad ears. Next time, I will sit on the left again but see about moving up closer to the stage.

Well, I got there at 4:30pm and I was definitely the FIRST one there. There was a handful of us die-hard fans at 5:30pm and even when they opened the doors at 7pm, there was still plenty of time to get a good seat or spot. Most people showed up close to 8pm. They did start ON TIME and played for two hours. It was great! Next time I will show up at 6:30 pm for a sold-out show.

So here is my strategy, tell me what you think. I am going solo. I cannot get a reservation at The Wild Note, but they do have 8 seats at the bar. I will get there at 4:30pm to guarantee I will get a bar seat, and eat and wait. I would really like to get a good SEAT. I do not want to stand up for the concert. I guess they let you in through the restaurant when the doors open. Do you think this is a good plan? They are my favorite group of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this will be the best concert ever!
