Ground Beef: Are my taste buds getting too old, or does Ground Beef have little taste compared to apprx 20 years ago?

Thanks, That is good to know. I am disappointed with the organic meat selection at Whole Foods. Jimbo's is much better. I wonder if they have Homegrown Meats? I also buy wild venison and wild boar.

Best Salt and Pepper Grinders

I would like to find a good quality pair of salt and pepper grinders. The pair I currently have barely put out any volume. I want to see the salt come out of the grinder! I use sea salt, if that makes a difference.

Try Trader Joe's organic 100% grass fed ground beef. It is a deal at $7.99 a pound. I think it is delicious and then grill it in bacon fat! woohoo!

The Belly Up -- When Should I Be There?

Oh, I meant to mention that I sat on the left in a seat and I saw the WHOLE stage. I could not hear most of what they said for commentary because the sound was garbled. I asked a younger 30ish guy if he could understand and he said no, it just sounded like mumbling, so it wasn't my bad ears. Next time, I will sit on the left again but see about moving up closer to the stage.

The Belly Up -- When Should I Be There?

Well, I got there at 4:30pm and I was definitely the FIRST one there. There was a handful of us die-hard fans at 5:30pm and even when they opened the doors at 7pm, there was still plenty of time to get a good seat or spot. Most people showed up close to 8pm. They did start ON TIME and played for two hours. It was great! Next time I will show up at 6:30 pm for a sold-out show.

The Belly Up -- When Should I Be There?

Hi Beach Chick I wish I had your audacity or I would try that. I did call the number but when I punched in the #200 it just brought me back to the original message. Should I just get there early and wait in line outside the venue? What do you think is a better idea, line or restaurant?

The Belly Up -- When Should I Be There?

I am not sure I understand you Honkman. Are you saying I have to stand up to see the concert? I have never been to the Belly up before.

The Belly Up -- When Should I Be There?

So here is my strategy, tell me what you think. I am going solo. I cannot get a reservation at The Wild Note, but they do have 8 seats at the bar. I will get there at 4:30pm to guarantee I will get a bar seat, and eat and wait. I would really like to get a good SEAT. I do not want to stand up for the concert. I guess they let you in through the restaurant when the doors open. Do you think this is a good plan? They are my favorite group of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this will be the best concert ever!

Don't ever wash raspberries - Good Advice??

Buy organic and then don't wash the raspberries. Organic is worth it. Raspberries and strawberries are sprayed heavily with chemicals if they are not organic. This is from EWG, "Raspberries trump strawberries with the application of 39 chemicals: 58% of the raspberries tested registered positive for contamination."

The Belly Up -- When Should I Be There?

I am going to The Belly Up in Solana Beach for the first time tomorrow to see my favorite band of all time--Tears for Fears. Can you help me? Is is possible to get a seat in the venue? I really don't want to be standing for hours. Is there is a strategy to getting a seat? Like how early should I be standing in line to have a possibility to get one? I was thinking of showing up with my camping chair at 2pm for an 8pm show. What do you think?

I get what you mean. If you find something let me know, although, my husband is divorcing me, so there are no home improvements on the horizon--just survival right now.

Little Italy Al Fresco Short Date Ideas

I am going on my first short and sweet intro-date in the early afternoon on Saturday. Where can we go in Little Italy where we can park pretty easily (is it possible?), and enjoy a short meeting to see if there is something worth pursuing?…
Outdoors would be nice, light and casual place with inexpensive options. Cafe, coffee place--that kind of thing. Not too heavy. Do you know what I mean?

I am looking for a breakfast hangout place. It needs to be a locally owned joint with outside tables and have an ocean view. I have been to Brockton Villa but i would like something more casual than that.

Where is the best fishmonger in San Diego?

A pesticide kills pests. Weeds are pests that Roundup kills. It is a pesticide and more specifically a herbicide. Look it up. Propylene (not ethylene) oxide is the "pasteurization" treatment used on nuts.
"Propylene oxide, also used in making polyurethane foams, antifreeze and hydraulic fluid, has been classified as a probable human carcinogen. And while the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) currently allows PPO treatment of nuts, it has also made moves to ban the fumigant twice." I will not argue the minutiae with you. I just prefer to eat healthy food. You eat that other crap if you want. Have fun.

Where is the best fishmonger in San Diego?

Hey, just getting started! Panda Express: eggs from factory farmed chickens kept in darkness and filth and fed gmo feed. They pack in the chickens so they don't have room to move and cut off their beaks because they are insane because of the crowded conditions. Cornstarch from gmo corn heavily sprayed with roundup and other pesticides that cause cancer and a host of other health problems.

So yeah, I am going to eat at home where I know where my food comes from. My chicken eggs come from the Dutch couple down the street who have chickens running around their yard eating bugs.
