Mission Chinese - what are the best things to order?

I think this is our answer: http://ny.eater.com/archives/2013/11/...

The restaurant was shut down by DoH.

That'd be a shame if they did stop offering deliveries. I guess we'll see in an hour whether Caviar lets you order at 11:30 when the restaurant opens.

Doesn't the restaurant open at 11:30am? You should still be able to place your order on Caviar right now though.

Another data point for their delivery. Placed my order at 11:20am, food arrived at 12:45pm. Not bad, since I live all the way on the other end of the delivery zone from the restaurant. Got combo fried rice and cod fried rice. Food arrived nice and warm. It was delicious.

The delivery fee wasn't cheap and I purposely ordered rice since they keep and travel well (I really like fried rice too, lol). It was a good experience, but definitely not cheap.

Hakkasan NY: Excellent Chinese Food Worth the Price of Admission

Thanks for the great review. I'm glad you guys ended up ordering the fruit platter after all. It's one of my favorite things at Hakkasan because I'm a fruit maniac. :D

Most decadent dinner (pretty girl dining alone)

The OP wants people's attention so they can read her thread in order to give her advice. I'd say she succeeded in getting that attention, don't you guys think?

How long is the Cronut line on weekday mornings?

Is the one in Montreal you're thinking of Patisserie Kouign Amann? I remember trying out a slice there, almost died on the spot from food bliss. Then went back the next morning and bought some more.

This is slightly off-topic, but probably doesn't require its own thread. Do you mind sharing your list of enjoyable dishes at Pure, Ziggy?

Yam'Tcha-like experience in NYC?

It's one of the best Chinese restaurants and in general, it's among the top 10 in my book.

I also love their fruit platter. I can probably make an entire meal out of that fruit platter because it's so satisfying.

Slightly digressing, I'm actually not a huge fan of their Peking Duck. The duck itself is great, but the way Hakkasan carves the duck... they don't carve it laterally like other Peking duck places so that you get the maximum amount of (crispy) skin per piece. Instead, the duck is sliced directly down, vertically so you barely get any skin. I wish they slice it like all of the other Peking duck places.

I agree that Hakkasan is one of the best in the city. I look forward to reading your review of the restaurant.

Why is Vitae ignored on Chowhound???

Vitae is located at:

4 E 46th St New York, NY 10017
(212) 682-3562
http://www.vitaenyc.com

I think I was one of the people who posted in the previous Vitae thread (http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/839193). I agree, it's a great place though I haven't been back recently. It's a shame this place hasn't gotten more attention on Chowhound.
