Bourbon and BBQ
We had a fantastic meal there Saturday night. Brisket sandwich, beef ribs, pork ribs, and salmon were all great! Sides were fine and we were given our choice of free dessert. Place is funky in a good way with live music that provided a great background. Really enjoyed it and if we lived in Louisville we would go all the time. Hope all the BBQ lovers who do live in town (or aere visiting) give it a try!
Bourbon and BBQ
Thanks for the recommendation. We will be flying in but will have a rental car
Bourbon and BBQ
Every year our family makes a BBQ pilgramage and this year we are traveling to Louisville. We'll be arriving next weekend and need recommendations for 2 dinners and a lunch. We want to eat BBQ for every meal (and maybe a couple of snacks). We'll have a car and would be willing to travel up to 1/2 hour but would prefer to stay in the downtown area since we'll be driving most of Saturday touring distilleries.

Is Michael's Genuine worth leaving the beach?
Red's is great! By far the best steakhouse on the beach- or off.
Where can I buy good quality seafood in the UES?
Definitely Citarella. Great selection, super fresh and good prices.
please help: french, affordable, romantic, authentic
Marsielle can be very touristy since it's in the theater district
Best non-Italian, non-pizza lunch in East Village?
Porchetta- fantastic pork sandwich or platter
Smokin' Q?
Been several times and really enjoyed it! Great ribs and good pulled pork- didn't try the brisket. Ribs are up there with Daisy Mae's and Dinosaur's. Never expected such high quality smoking on the UES!
Discovered great bbq on east 63
Been to Dinosaur many times and have found the ribs to be inconsistent but love their wings. Have only been to Smokin Q once so I don't know about the consistency but the ribs sure were good.
Discovered great bbq on east 63
Just had lunch at Smokin Q on E 63 and boy was I surprised. Wasn't expecting anything and it turned out to be great. Ribs were meaty, well smoked and spicy. Pulled pork sandwich was very good but Daisy Mae's is better. Sides were good too. We had potato salad (which had an interesting mustardy flavor), cole slaw (which was vinegar based), mac and cheese (tasty) and baked beans (really good) and decent corn bread. They have brisket too but didn't try it since I doubt anything is going to be as good as Hill Country. I'm a real bbq fan (traveled to Memphis, St Louis, Texas and the Carolinas just for bbq) and and have tried them all in NYC and this place is right up there with the best in the city. And it's right in my neighborhood!
What to order at Daniel
just there tues and had a fantastic meal. fois gras was superb as usual- we had the seared and the terrine. the peach dessert was unbelievable. if you can afford the tasting it's a great way to go and the wine pairing with it works well. enjoy!
Per Se or Gramercy Tavern
Without ant doubt- Per Se. GT is great but you can't put the two in the same sentence.
Best Ethiopian Restaurant?
Has anyone tried The Ethiopian Restaurant on York btwn 83 & 84?
Old, traditional bakeries/pastry shops that still exist
Definitely go to Orwasher's- just what you're looking for- the rye bread is fantastic (they even have corn rye)
90th & Madison
There's an excellent ramen noodle shop on third (i think it's between 90 & 91) on west side of street- great noodles and huge chicken teriyaki platter- fantastic gyoza- you can sit (just a counter) or takeout- tons of food for less than $10
Daniel, Danube, Bouley. Pick One.
Been to all three and without a doubt I would chose Daniel
Mid/Upper East Side Italian B'day Dinner
Tony de Napoli is a great choice! Just there for a family celebration and all (from grandparents to grandkids really enjoyed it- great food for the price and lots of big groups so you can be loud
