Manhattan Hound Visiting: Sat rec PB - Delray corridor

How kind of you! I checked for rez at Buccan on OpenTable and it was too large a group. I need to get my act together and make some calls.

Will report back.

Late Dinner Suggestions

Barchetta - great, diverse, stylish crowd, delicious seafood, new place at 23rd and 10th. Their crudo is better than the sashimi in many sushi-ya in the city. Make reservations.

Manhattan Hound Visiting: Sat rec PB - Delray corridor

Staying at The Breakers this coming weekend to see friends and their 11-15 yr old [sophisticated] daughters. Friday night dinner at Echo with just friend and husband. Saturday need rec for one family coming up from Delray, another from West Palm Beach (just across from Breakers)and me at The Breakers. Group of 9, prices not an issue.

Daughters love donning dresses for a proper dinner, but need not be so if there are more casual options with good food.

Note: I am hosting the ladies during the day Sunday beach/poolside at Breakers, so not interested in options there if any good to begin with.

Many thanks.

Inexpensive but healthy lunch near AMNH?

Last word I'd use for Lenny's would be interesting. It's a mini chain in NYC, Salads and sandwiches like many places in the city. Good for what it is, but far from interesting or unique, if that's more important than cheap and healthy.

Seafood in Manhattan?

Dined at Barchetta last night and loved it. GREAT crudo tasting, two different whole fish options (for one or two people) and a few other fish entrees. Seafood pastas and appetizers.

Varied, high quality wine by the glass program, and dessert wines. Speaking of dessert, talented pastry chef.

Loved it. BUT, insanely loud room.

I know this is vague, but looking for dim, cozy, music bar/restaurant

The live music criterion narrows it down considerably. Good restaurants tend to concentrate on that, not entertainment. And vice versa. Good music usually equals mediocre to bad good.

Which is more important to you? If food, please provide more details,as indicated by other posters.

Toon Thai 30th & Park Avenue South?

I found just the opposite. Used to love it and since my office moved nearby was very excited to be close to it. Tried it twice and didn't even finish the food.

I've been on a major thai kick for almost a year now - Pam Real is my favorite.

Group lunch near 8th ave + 16th street?

And it's not very good. It's full of tourists and daytrippers from New Jersey due to its proximity to the tunnels.

Yes, it is big, but not not very good food nor service.

Taking 11 year old granddaughter to see Alladin,

Don't know where the theater is, but my theater district go-to with visiting kids is Vynl. Decent enough food and drinks for adults and enough kitsch and bright colors for kids who want the Big City experience.

Best contemporary Mexican for Sat. night dinner for 4?

For high-energy contemporary Mexican, I like Rocking Horse Cafe - just a solid, reasonably-priced stalwart of Chelsea.

How is Hell's Kitchen these days? I used to love it but haven't been in years.

(FWIW, Preferred Empellon Taqueria over Cocina; love ABC Cocina).

BTW - Hedwig has no intermission and a running time of 95 mins. If you're seeing the 10 PM show, you're out by 11:35 PM.
