Wedding reception food/questions. Professional input welcome....

Bagels. Sandwiches. Fruit. Samosas. Japanese decor, outside. An ice cream man. A 6 foot sub. Chips and salsa.

Really sounds like a disjointed potluck picnic. And for a wedding?

Visa Versa vs. Patsy's

Really good Italian" can not be found in theater district. Are you committed to Italian and/or the theater district?

Vice Versa and Patsy's are not good.

Manhattan For A Week

You want "some great places to get some great food."

Do you also want a great ambience at prices that 'won't' break the bank'?

What's your ??????????

How did that help the situation, or is this just 'humor'? Seems self-indulgent and time wasting to me.

Cuisines from 30+ countries

If you must, then let's just call it food (and wine) from the Iberian peninsula:
"In May 2009, Chef George Mendes opened Aldea in Manhattan’s Flatiron neighborhood. Named after the Spanish word for village, the restaurant’s menu is inspired by the Iberian Peninsula and Mendes’ heritage"

Feel better?

What's your ??????????

I agree. Why do so many people feel the need to be total jerks (and to take pride and brag about their assholery) to minimum wage workers just doing their jobs?

Cuisines from 30+ countries

If I may say, some cuisines are indeed represented in NYC, but that doesn't mean they are good. For example, we have probably 2 or 3 Swiss. And the reason everyone recommends the same Serbian restaurant doesn't mean it is great necessarily. It means it is good of the 3 Serbian places in the city. Why eat mediocre Serbian food as a novelty when you could choose from one of the oh, 30 GREAT Italian or 50 great American restaurants?

Anyhow.. I'll play along and post places that are good in and of themselves, not just because they are the cuisines on your list:

Canada - Mile high (smoked meat) or Black Seed (bagels)
- United States - too vast
- Switzerland - if you must there are two: Trestle on Tenth, Cafe Select both OK
- Germany/Austria - Wallse is very good as is Blaue Gans (same chef/owner)
- Italy/Vatican City/San Marino - VAST
- Sweden - Aquavit
- Cuba - Cafe Habana is good street-like food but probably not authentic. Cafe Margon (is that Cuban?)
- Portugal - Aldea (new Portuguese)
- Spain - We have a few v good basque, Boqueria, Toro, Txikito
- China - VAST
- England - Gastropubs - The Spotted Pig and The Breslin

20th Wedding Anniversary Dinner Suggestions

The NoMad
Estela
Batard

I don't know if they are 'fun' per se. I mean you're not getting up and playing games or dancing. No singalongs breaking out. At the end of the day, wherever you are, you're sitting and eating. They are not stuffy though, but rather lively.

Aquavit is amazingly delicious, innovative, two michelin stars. It it will be over your budget, though worth it.

Right? I had no idea grocery shopping was so anxiety- and violence-inducing. This thread... I mean...

Cheap Sushi

Momoya. I have only been to the Chelsea location and it is my go-to /sit at the bar / chat with chefs / have some rather good sake(s) / get out at around $60 sushi-ya.
