Dinner in Lowell near Tsongas Center?

In fairly close walking distance there is also Cobblestones and Viet-Thai. Slightly further (but no further than Centro and still walkable) is Blue Taleh, and also Fuse Bistro. None are super amazing, but all are reasonably good, and give you a variety of atmospheres and cuisines, depending on what you like.

I don't think a car is necessary to walk between the Tsongas Center and downtown lowell where the restaurants mentioned above are. We are talking 10 minute walk max, and this area is perfectly safe to walk at night.

Kaffir Lime Leaves - Lowell?

FYI - Kaffir lime leaves were at Burlington Market Basket yesterday in produce section; in sub-isle with asian vegetables on one side, organic vegetables on the other. Specifically, on asian vegetable side, top shelf between tamarind in a box and peeled coconuts.

Kaffir Lime Leaves - Lowell?

I can't remember where exactly, but I think it may have been with the asian vegetables, maybe near the ginger and turmeric root and galangal? They were in a clear square-shaped plastic tub and the label on the side says "lime leaf."

Maybe ask someone working there if you can't find them. I'm pretty sure it was not where the lettuce and cilantro is.

Kaffir Lime Leaves - Lowell?

Over the past year, i have found Kaffir lime leaves a few times at Russo's (in small clear plastic tubs next to the herbs, don't confuse w/ bay leaves) and last week found them at the Burlington Market Basket in the produce section (just labelled "lime leaves"), which has a fantastic diversity of produce for a standard supermarket.

However, it is hit or miss (mostly miss). They are more often not there than there, but whenever i find them I buy them. They keep pretty well in the freezer too.

Your Fav Unusual Fruits, and Boston Vendors of Them?

My favorite is fresh passionfruit, but they are so hard to find around here. Sometimes last spring/early summer I found them at Market Basket for a decent price, and I once think I saw them at Russo's. Does anyone know of other places where fresh passionfruit can be found (preferably purple variety)?

Been to Acitron Mexican Restaurant Lately?

I've been to Acitron three times now (twice in the last month) and I think the food is generally very good. I highly recommend the gazpacho, ceviche, and salmon entree. There is also a nice roast pork entree with pickled onions and a delicious tres leches cake. The sides are also good, especially the elote (corn). It's not cheap, but a decent value for what you get and a great addition to Arlington. I've also been for brunch and that is yummy too.

Unsweetened Passionfruit juice

Hello - can you please report on what type of passionfruit juice concentrate you end up using and the Lillikoi chiffon pie recipe. Would like to make this too. Missing Hawaiian food...

looking for passionfruit birthday cake

Previously a lurker here, but wanted to let you know I saw a delicious looking passionfruit cake for sale at the new bakery Cakes in Arlington. Am waiting for a special occasion to buy one. I think you could order one to be made if not available on the spot.
