You must be my brother from another mother, Tom34! That is how I do mine, sans bacon...but ours never last a year! LOL

could the 'frilly looking' Arugula possibly be Frisse and the 'large onion with the leek-like stem' an actual Leek? :-D

Lobster $4.99....

The first time we did purchase their select grade (they had just opened down here and did not yet carry the Certified Angus), which really is 'restaurant' quality. But now we only buy this, as it is the only 'steak cut' I choose to eat. We also sometimes buy the whole rib (de-boned) and split the cost w/ my sister & her husband...you get an insane number of steaks from that cut!

Lobster $4.99....

Tom34 is correct. I was speaking of the fresh tank lobsters. RD now has a lot of 'each' (broken case) items...they are generally a few farthings more than the 'by the case' price, but still very reasonable. On Saturday, I purchased (for the home) an Angus beef tenderloin ($11.10/lb), a 10-rib rack of pork ($4.18/lb), and a net bag of steamer clams. Yum-O!

i think i just threw up a little in my mouth! :-/ This reminds me of those people who eat laundry starch or dry wall...so odd, to me, but, medically speaking, it seems they are suffering from mineral deficiencies.

Lobster $4.99....

No, not at all. You can buy one 1lb lobster, if that is what you want. Anyone can join, all you need is a 'legal' business license...it doesn't even have to be for a RESTAURANT! We joined under my brother's flooring company! I buy whole beef tenderloin and Delmonico (boneless rib cuts (and cut it and cryo-vac it myself), along with other delicacies, such as the lobster, wild caught shrimp, and many vegetables.

What is your dirty little food secret?

All so familiar with your dilemma. We are a healthy eating, cook-at-home couple...but when my spouse travels on business, all bets are off! It gets especially bad when I'm off from work...for instance, today's consumption started off as usual, 2 cups of coffee and a banana for breakfast...followed by a mid-morning snack of 3 'Alouette Italian Herb Cheese Cubes' spread upon Triscuit Thin Crisps...followed by a late lunch of 'TJ's Tater Tots' w/ ketchup...followed by an amuse bouche of 'Hannah Tzatziki' & pretzel sticks...closed out by cocktail hour. But the upside is there are no witnesses! LOL

It's Nissen 'Cup 'o Noodles' for me...Spicy Chicken is my personal fav! And Luck's Pinto Beans w/ Pork, heated in the microwave and topped w/ a bit of shredded cheddar cheese...eat the entire can! These are my 'alone time' go-to's...clearly, I should not be left unsupervised!

New to Chapel Hill, seeking recs for BBQ and more

I can't believe no one mentioned The Pit (Raleigh) for BBQ...his meat can't be beat! :-D

Crook's Corner (CH) for Southern eats.

Revolution (Durham), chef inspired cuisine.

What's Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill like for a foodie?

The triangle has a great farm-to-table scene, and I recently read in Southern Living that Durham is an up and coming foodie mecca with a vibrant food truck community!
