I agree with Parigi and I will go a step more; once you've had good food you can't go back to junk food. I will follow my nose to the markets and try the roast chicken. I heard there is also a bateau that hosts a good dinner cruise and they have a roast chcken. Aloha |

I have been reading all of this with awe at the knowledge that all of you Chowhounds have about roast chicken. I was brought up in NYC, and my mother bought Kosher chicken which was always delicious,Now I cook organic chicken and when I went to the organic store "Whole foods' I was told that the most organic chickens live freely and are excercised. Does that mean they are put on a treadmill? lol But was warned against the most organic of chickens because they almost die of old age and are tough. I find the organic chicken skinny and tastless so I am assuming The French have a way with chicken that is different. I did read that some hotels do not allow food in the room. But a picnic is always a possibility. I will check out Allard for a restaraunt meal. I don't know where I am staying yet. If anyone know of a chicken man or woman still in business who sells the special brand that tastes good , please write. Aloha from the land of not so good chickens. |

My only concern is that my daughter and I can't do justice to the whole chicken and I hate to waste food. Do they sell half a chicken? I would think not. |

Thank you so much Boredough and Phil Parigi and Laidback, I read somewhere that the favorite dish of chefs all over the world was a good roast chicken. I make a good one myself in a clay pot but my daughter said the best she had was aboard a boat tour on the Seine. I will try to find this chicken if it takes my whole trip. Mahalo and bring back the roast chicken in Paree thread Maya |

I've only been to Paris once and didn't notice street vendors. Could you please expand on a shop that would sell this suberb chicken meal. Do they sell the potatoes too, or would I have to go to a different shop. My mouth is watering already,. Thanks and aloha |

I love that idea but in the case that my hotel would not allow this is there a restaurant that has a similar meal. Thanks and aloha |
