Farm chicken, roasted with 40 cloves of garlic and parsley, prepared by the mother of a French boyfriend. Salad of bitter greens, dressed with the warm juice from the chicken. A red Cotes-du-Rhone. Crepes Suzette, made over the coals in the fireplace. And a nice little bowl of 150-year-old Grand Marnier. Too bad it didn't last...
