New Yorkers coming to Montclair for Dinner Saturday night - Suggestions?

Well... after all of that, the Jersey friends came into the City and I cooked: Warm Fig & Frisee Salad, Pork Shoulder Braised in Apple Cider, Root Vegetable Puree, Brussels Sprouts and cupcakes (from Baked by Melissa) for dessert!

We'll hit Montclair some other night!

Thanksgiving Dinner in Bayside/Whitestone area

We're having family come in from out of town and just don't have the time and/or patience to cook this year for Thanksgiving, so we're thinking of going out.

Valentino's on the Green is our first thought.

Any other suggestions? Looking for a traditional Turkey Dinner (but do need a vegetarian option for one) - $50-$60 pp max.

Thanks so much!

New Yorkers coming to Montclair for Dinner Saturday night - Suggestions?

So I've been tasked with finding a great restaurant in Montclair for a Saturday night dinner in a couple of weeks.

These are the restaurants (some other site) recommends as the "top in Montclair," but none really seem to fit the bill for a fun Saturday night.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. One thought I had was CulinAriane. I know she was a "Top Chef" Chef. Any thoughts on it?

Here's that other list. Thanks!

1. Raymond's
2. Cuban Pete's...
3. Mesob
4. Nauna's Bella Casa
5. Egan and Sons Bar and...
6. The Southern Belle
7. Dai-Kichi Japanese
8. Bluestone Coffee
9. Saveur Creole
10. Toast

Want to go to Williamsburg for Dinner Saturday night - where?

Thanks so much - DOH! I knew it was Bedford Ave... my bad (but that's what I get, right!)

Saturday night - if I don't make a res... 1 hour wait or so? May just want to walk around and see what's what. Have wanted to go to Marlow & Sons and Traif.

Thanks.

Want to go to Williamsburg for Dinner Saturday night - where?

I'm a Manhattan person - mid-40s. Don't know Williamsburg much. I know Bedford St is the main drag, but that's about it.

Would love to head over for dinner with some real out-of-town friends, but don't know where to go.

Anything but Indian. Want a fun atmosphere, solid food.

Then of course, if you have suggestions as to where to go after, that would be great. Just for drinks, or even better, drinks and LIVE MUSIC.

Thanks!

Tacqueria is best "real" Mexican in UWS - Gabriella's is a total different vibe.

Sports & Sushi - Can I have the best of both worlds at a restaurant?

Personally, I think Sports goes with everything! Sushi, Wings, Burgers, Steak (maybe not tofu!)
We were in the mood for sushi and in the mood to go out and hang out and watch some games. We actually settled for Five Napkin Burger, believe it or not. Limited Sushi (and certainly not authentic), but fresh and very interesting. And don't get me started on the Burger. It's hands down the best burger in NYC. Thanks, all

College Reunion in Manhattan (our 25th) - need a fun restaurant (and after dinner activity) for out of towners

Okay - Dinner will be Saturday, October 22. Guessing with one drink and 2-3 course meal, would be about $50-$60 pp. Let's put it this way: I called Minetta Tavern, and could only get a 6:00pm reservation. Thinking about Fedora maybe, Maialino (if i can get in), Cookshop, Standard Grill... a bit of a range, no?

Does that help?

College Reunion in Manhattan (our 25th) - need a fun restaurant (and after dinner activity) for out of towners

Want to mix it up a bit. There will be just 6 of us - men & women - coming in on a Saturday night in October.

I prefer casual and fun - and then need to figure out what to do after dinner. We're all in our 40s, so we're not going out "clubbing."

Maybe some BBQ? Mexican? "Traditional"/Contemporary American? Bottomline, needs to be a place with a great atmosphere, and preferably close to some other good "hangouts".

This falls on me - was thinking Red Rooster, but not sure where the "after" would be. Suppose we could always cab elsewhere.

Ok - there we go. Hounders, I leave it to you to enlighten me.

Thanks!

Sports & Sushi - Can I have the best of both worlds at a restaurant?

Really want to go out for sushi tomorrow night.
Really want to watch the US Open/ LSUvOregon Football game/GiantsvPats Football game.

Is there a great restaurant that serves Sushi but also has multiple TV Screens?

(Prefer somewhere on the West side, but flexible.)

Are "Restaurants" Required to have Bathrooms? [moved from Manhattan]

And by "restaurants," I;m talking Subway, Dunkin Donuts, etc... These are eating establishments, right? Shouldn't there be a place available for me to wash my hands before eating at the restaurant? Or if I'm a customer, shouldn't I be able to pee after I eat or drink my 64 oz. coffee?

I know (we ALL know) that Starbucks provides. Why not these other places?

Have a friend coming in from out of town who's a big sports fan. And she (note that) loves great food.

Suggestions for where to go? Not Brother Jimmy's!

Thanks.

Breakfast/early lunch by N. State St./The Palmer House

I'm in Chicago for one day/night - have time to grab breakfast around 10 Friday before I have to fly out. Any suggestions for a classic Chicago experience? Diner? Stand, etc? Don't know the town well. Flying out of O'Hare early afternoon.

Thanks!

Three of Cups EV?

I discovered Three of cups a million years ago (truly a different life back then) and love it. The downstairs lounge was incredibly sexy. Upstairs, the pizza was great and a very nice setting. I have some incredible memories of the place (and probably some memories hidden away.)

again, haven't been there in 10 years or so, so not sure if it holds up. But it did then...

Client Dinner in Chelsea/Union Square Flatiron district - Suggestions?

Have a client coming in for dinner Thursday night. There will be 8 of us. Don't want to spend big $$$. Looking at $$. Entrees in teens-$20s. Would prefer a decent wine list.

So we need a place that's got good food and atmosphere, but we do need to hear each other talk.

Was initially thinking about Suenos, or Il Bastardo.

I appreciate all and any suggestions.

Thanks!

Lunch with California friends - Friday

Well... we actually did Coffee Shop and enjoyed ourselves. Had a nice booth, waitress paid attention to us and we lingered through the afternoon. Had the barbeque chicken sandwich - not bad! As for the crowd... your usual model wannabees, NYU students and then us..

Best Breakfast in Brooklyn

I'm making the trek across the bridge Thursday. I will go to any neighborhood.

I want the best breakfast - not fanciest, but the best. A place I can go and enjoy the food, get a great cup of coffee (or 3), read the paper (the real paper, not on a Kindle) and really feel I'm in Brooklyn having breakfast.

Is it Egg in Williamsburg?
Juniors in (I know it's on Flatbush Ave, but no idea what "neighborhood" it is - not that it matters)

Somewhere in Red Hook? Graves End? Coney Island?

Feed me!!
