changes at Hung Ky - 337 Jones, SF
I am saddened to hear this news. I've always feared that the place would be closed the next time I return home from school. Did the owner say anything about keeping the same chefs at the potential new location?
S.F. trip, so far (sort of long)
Finally. gettinfat, you're right on with Zuni and Luna Park. I'd also like to nominate Medicine EatStation to the list.
What's Quince like?
What a timely post. Does anyone know of any tricks to get a reservation without planning weeks in advance? I am hosting some out-of-towners next week, and I would really like to take them to Quince. I have my name down on the wait list in case anyone cancels, but has anyone tried a walk-in? Help is greatly appreciated.
Can't miss in Stockton?
SF Hound heading over to Stockton tomorrow for business and I'm looking for the best restaurants in the area. Distance and price are no issue (will be on expense account). I like any cuisine. Thanks in advance.
SF Hound visiting LA for July 4 weekend
I am visiting Los Angeles July 4th weekend, and I would like some suggestions for the following:
1. Dim sum
2. Taiwanese
3. Korean
4. Vietnamese
5. Cal-French
6. Italian
7. Patisseries/good cakes
8. Must eats (probably will not be visiting LA area again for some time)
I will be staying in Hacienda Heights, but since I will have a car, distance is no issue (I am willing to travel far and wide for good food). Also, price is not an issue, though I do appreciate good value. I tend to hover around the upper-middle range, but am up for anything from fine dining to dives.
Thank you all in advance!
