New Yorker in LA looking for the best Indian, Chinese, and Pizza! Where do ex-NYers eat??

For Indian (Pakistani, technically, but who's counting), I second other readers, Al Watan in Lawndale is at the top of the list. Akbar in Pasadena or Hermosa Beach is also quite good (Dhaba Lamb is my favorite, only available at those locations though). Bombay Tandoori is good also. If you are in West LA, also consider Ambala Dhaba.

Moving to San Pedro/Rancho Palos Verdes - ISO....everything!

New York Deli - Having lived in NYC, this is actually a pretty good imitation of an old-school New York Jewish Deli. Liked the chopped liver sandwiches here, egg salad sandwich also.

Bombay Tandoori - Solid Indian lunch buffet, and their dinner is even better. Try the lamb boti (basically, boneless lamb chops), or Rogan Josh (also quite good).

Korean - Cho Dang - One of the best, if not the best, Korean tofu/bbq spots in the South Bay.

El Burrito Jr - Get the chicken or beef burrito (the one with the lettuce, salsa, sour cream etc). Enough said, you'll love it.

Al Watan - Best Indian/Pakistani food in Los Angeles (just see Yelp, 4.5 stars), hands down delicious. A bit of a trek since it's in Lawndale, but well worth the drive.
