Napa Engagement Proposal - It's Going Down

Plan a special picnic at Ferrari-Carano in their lovely gardens.
We visited and at mid day there were only two other couple anywhere in sight.
Excellent wines as well. Let then know your plans and they might be helpful with privacy.

Novo in San Luis Obispo

La Lengua Chronicles - My Project for 2012

I would suggest that you try Angkor Borei (Cambodian)
.Visit their web site. It is truly unique and the food does not resemble Thai or other SE Asian.
We order the Crispy Spring rolls, the Blanket Prawns and the Ahmonk. Sounds strange but wonderful. I have never had a bad item from their menu and their special can be amazing.

Grocery Outlet Wine Sale 3/7-3/11 - What are you buying?

We found the Renwood Barbara in good quantity and it is easy. A bargain as are the Bixler wines. They must have had 20 cases of Deep Sea Chard, but did not buy it. The Raymond NZ Sauv. Blanc is crisp and dry. Good with seafood.

Dinner in Paso Robles, any opinions on Deborah's Room at Justin Winery?

Since you are staying at the Inn, I think you should try the dining room as reviews appear terrific. Please post an update following your visit.
The place is lovely.

Dinner in Paso Robles, any opinions on Deborah's Room at Justin Winery?

Since the sale of the Winery and it's operations, the Dining room no longer has the personal oversee of the former owners, Justin and Deb Baldwin. It was superb when they had a very well known chef, but today is unknown. I would call and inquire of the present status. It is a lovely, quiet place and can be very romantic if you are the only diners.

Restaurants near SF Airport

Good, old style Italian is nearby in So. San Francisco off Airport Road & 101.
Also at the airport is Lark Creek Grill with fine food for an airport and excellent wine list.

Celebratory Dinner in Sacaramento

I would suggest Biba's as a fine choice. Wonderful Italian food. See their web site at:

Estrella restaurant, Paso ?

I did not notice as it was dark, but near the soon to be closed furniture store.
It faces the park and could be the brick faced location.

Estrella restaurant, Paso ?

It was a soft opening on Saturday night, 1/7/12. We walked by it looks very nice.

sidecar san luis obispo

I live in SLO. Where is sidecar ?

SLO County Restaurant Month January 2012

Lots of great specials to check out at 3 courses for $ 30.
Anyone have any great suggestion. We will do Luna Red,
Novo and Buona Tavola. How about you?

Best Cab Blends Under 100

We are enjoying the 2005 Ridge Santa Cruz Mountain Estate Wine which is a 52% Cab, 48% Merlot.
Silky, soft and very nice. Cost was only in the $ 38- $42. range.

Central Coast- Need help with wineries... which ones am I missing out on?

Give some thought to visiting the South County area with visits in both Arroyo Grande and Edna Valley site. Much different selections due to the cooler climate. Many lovely Pinot Noirs and
a vast selection of white wines not found in paso Robles.

New in Glen Park

Has anyone made it to Marzoni's in Glen Park?
The local review in the GP Association new spoke highly of it.
It was a locals success the first night (12/19) and said to be busy since.
Hope to get a Chowhound report soon.
We won't be nearby until Spring.

Grocery Outlet

The Grocery outlet opened in Atascadero on El Camino Real last week.
We stopped in yesterday to check things out.
A fairly large store with small wine section. I was told it will get larger as soon as they determine local preferences. Good meat selection and a large freezer section with many items not seen in Santa Maria.

Wineries Hwy 128

see the Anderson Valley Winegrowers site. We always enjoy Londer, Handley and Roderer. We too love Navarro.

Fire temporarily closes SLO's Bon Temps

I have not been for breakfast since they re-opened.
We elected to go on Sunday evening with friends from SF. They both selected the jambalaya, one with prawns, the other blackened chicken. Neither was excited about them and would not order again. I was very disappointed in the Fried Catfish , too much crust and dry, fish was okay, but on the whole not something I would order again. I may go back, but avoid on Sunday eve as there were only 6 customers and food still took 25 minutes.
