Taco Fiesta

I can't remember a thread about this place:

I used to eat at the College Park location, and it was good. Anyone eat at the Baltimore location recently?

Phillips Seafood - Ocean City

"Stuck", eh? I'm not sure that even your dogs would want to eat at Phillips.

Red velvet cake at Costco?

Red Velvet cupcakes were underwhelming.

Phillips Seafood - Ocean City

After decades of bad reviews, I had heard that Phillips had improved in the last few years. Seeking a fried platter, my friend and I ventured into the uptown Phillips. Results were not good.

I ordered the fried platter, and my friend ordered the broiled stuffed flounder. While hers was at least passable, the only things decent on the fried platter were the crabcake and the baked potato. Shrimp were tasteless, fried fish mediocre, and fried oysters were just off-tasting. The meal ran ~$90 - complete waste of money.

Peter Chang opening restaurant in Rockville in early 2015

Good move now that P.F. Chang's is gone.

Mango's Grill - Laurel, MD

This has been a regular spot for me for the last eight years, and I drive fifteen miles to get there. My favorite dish is the seafood fajita's - shrimp, scallops, and a large lobster tail.Market priced - last night it was $24.95. Good chips & salsa, beans and pico de gallo. I also like their crab enchiladas. Great service, and the owner is usually there to say hi.

Costco Food Finds - 3rd Quarter 2014

The red velvet cupcakes are featured in this month's coupon booklet, IIRC.

Summer seafood takeout from Bethesda eateries

Black's is great, but not inexpensive.

Shawafel -- Best Inexpensive Food in the Atlas District

I've only sampled their food at Nationals Park. Their falafel was inferior to Kosher Grill.

Trader Joe's YAY/MEH/NAY - July 2014 [OLD]

Never ever send food back. You won't like the results.

Best BBQ in Baltimore - Help!

Pit beef is Baltimore BBQ.

Ocean City, MD?

Dim Sum

Had dim sum at Oriental East. Pretty good, but no better than Hollywood East. Factoring in the crowd, I'll stick with Hollywood East in the future.

KFC ~ Bon Chon Etc

Any reports on Mo Mo Chicken & Jazz?

best crab cakes in maryland - any suggestions?

Crisfield's is still terrific, but their crabcake has never been outstanding. For crabcake, Jerry's (Lanham or Bowie) is best. Clyde's is pretty good, as well.

Dim Sum

Seconded. Love their seafood tart.

Growing Up In D.C./Balt: Who Else Remembers....

Flagship and Hogates were "twins" in the same way that O'Donnell's and Bish Thompson's were so similar and a block apart in Bethesda.

New and exciting in Silver Spring?

Ruan Thai is better than Kob.

SHOCKER - Vince & Dominic's CLOSED

Robert Dyer is usually right.

SHOCKER - Vince & Dominic's CLOSED

Many of us liked it.

SHOCKER - Vince & Dominic's CLOSED

Robert Dyer is reporting this venerable institution has closed after 31 years in business. I haven't been there in many years, and now feel guilty about contributing to their demise. If I had known, I would've gone one last time.

Shanghai Taste, Rockville, 12/12 - report

Very good restaurant with very good prices. Since the cameras are calibrated at 12 miles over the limit, sounds like you were driving way too fast.

The Hitching Post

The fried chicken was nearly identical to Dempsey's Grill in Middletown, MD - my favorite. I'll try different sides on my next visit.

The Hitching Post

Finally got there this evening. The fried chicken was as advertised - OUTSTANDING. Good slaw and cornbread, but below average mac & cheese. Very small dining room, which was full by 6:00.

My favorite dim sum item...

...would be the seafood tarts at Hollywood East.

Forgotten Fast Foods

And how about Eddie Leonard's and Little Tavern?

Not eating out or just not posting?

Yes, it is tiresome to hear that there are no good bagels, pizza, barbecue, et al, in DC.

Not eating out or just not posting?

The harsh winter weather may be a reason for lack of participation.
