Foodie Markets etc British Colombia ....

I usually travel to the Canadian west coast at least once a year and so this year am due to fly to Vancouver in November for a month.

I'd love to spend about a week touring (farmers) markets and other food related places In the admittedly rather large B.C area. Has anyone got any ideas on places that I really SHOULD visit?

I've obviously done the Granville Island* market and the Gastown district in Vancouver but not much else.

My main introduction to the Canadian food scene has been through the truly excellent (now defunct?) podcast "Deconstructing Dinner"

Thanks!

* Out of interest how do the people who use Granville Market, Vancouver see it? is it a tourist trap with tourist prices or would an average person do part/most/all of their weekly shop there?

How can I score a Fat Duck reservation?

a lot more transparent than the El Bulli system

What is the El Bulli system??? outta interest!

London Green Tripe

My father used to buy green tripe from the local abattoir which he then cleaned when I was growing up in the late 70's early 80's. I can still remember the taste which I used to really like. I remember a smell nothing strong just different.

Looking for a source now. Most..... sorry everyone I've mentioned green tripe to has turned their nose up and says feed your dog something else. When I tell them if for me its all I can do to stop them bringing up their last meal!!!

I tried the white (blanched) stuff but that is gross. Anyone know of a source of (cleaned) green tripe for human consumption in the London area?

London Bread....

I agree when they first opened they were truly first class... now its a bit hit and miss. Not sure if its a money saving thing (UK WFM lost over £30 million last year!) or they have a different oven as the original caught fire but its just nowhere near as good.

London "Third Wave" Coffee

Is there a consensus on which are the quality "third wave" coffee shops in London?

If so, is there a list and if not where should I be going?
Cheers

London Bread....

Where are people in London getting their daily bread so to speak?

Have spoken to a few that appeared to be quality but was hugely disappointed when I started asking questions! i.e. Why do you use palm oil in you bread?

Am looking for the no nonsense flour, water, yeast and a bit of salt and naturally leaven type of bread
Cheers
