Half Moon - Mini Review

My family of 5 ate in the main restaurant last night. This was our first visit. The view did not disappoint but is best appreciated dinning outside.
The staff were friendly, attentive and numerous. The crowd was a nice mix. A scene of sorts but welcoming to young and old alike.
So far, so good. The only disappointment was unfortunately the food. The veal Milanese was soggy. The lobster roll was bland and more pink sauce than lobster. The scallops were chewy rather than a
"al dente" and the goat cheese salad was little more than a bed of arugula.
My daughter's mac and cheese was excellent.
The chocolate pudding we shared for dessert was bland.
In summary: We will go back, sit outside and order a cocktail and eat a burger of a summer day or evening but will definitely not return for a "fine dinning" experience.
Food 4/10. Atmosphere 8/10. View 10/10. Staff 8/10.

Good lunch/ Rye, Greenwich, Stamford

Greenwich is not without hope.Have you tried Mirnas.Excellent Lebanese salads. The mains are not as good but a Meze of starters should do the trick.

Rosie's Bistro

Went this evening with the wife. The crowd in the restaurant was very mature and the atmosphere was flat, even by Westchester standards.
We both had starters and main dishes all of which were bland.
The service was pleasant and the lighting was sympathetic.
In a word : Underwhelmed.

Nessa Portchester

Went last night. The place was very crowded and the place was just that little bit too noisy . The bar area is only seperated from the dinning area by a few drapes and on a number of occasions my chair was knocked into by patrons of the bar.Kind off annoying.
The menu is very limited .If you don't want to eat bread as a starter or pasta as a main then it's chicken or salmon. The specials were sold out by 7.45.
The service was incredibly slow.So slow that we were given comp'd dessert.
Food was fine for an out of town joint.
In summary :not without hope but i will have to hear a lot of good things from people direct rather than throuah this board which seems a little "painted" at present.

Best Hummus

Good lebanese hummus comes many ways in London.Favourite is from Noura in the center of town.

Best Hummus

Thanks.I will be making the trip before the week is out.

New off the boat

Thank you for this great list. Will try a few and let you know of my experiences.

Best Hummus

Just moved from London where one is spoilt for fine Lebanese cuisine.
The hummus on the shelves of Kosher deli's or super markets around the lower Westchester region does not make the grade. It is hard to identify that the origin of
the product is even chick peas.
Are their any good middle eastern speciality stores in Manhattan or lower Westchester that could satisfy my craving ?

New off the boat

Would someone be so kind as to recommend a high end Kosher butcher in the Westchester area ,that specialises in both meat and poultry.
I have found deli's with fridges ,containing pre-cut produce but i am after a real butcher's shop.
Help please ?
