Tampa Bay means Father's Day!! Where to go??

You guys have turned me on to many places, and I can go anywhere on fathers day, in the greater TB area that is...you have turned me on to many spots, ABC Seafood, TacoBus, Rusty Bellies, being some favorites...but now I want the ones I haven't tried. China Yuan? The other china place u guys used to always argue about? Basically, your top3.... no steakhouses.

Hey Sunchild45....

Didn't see another way to send you this message, sorry...but if you are still around, can you tell me where I can find the recipe for the Baltimore Barbecue Chicken Wings you spoke of in another thread?? That is, if you wouldn't mind sharing it.. I've Googled it and looked everywhere to no avail! They sound delicious and you list some of the ingredients in your post, so I will try making them with or without the recipe. But a recipe sure would help, I believe it was in the Floridas Top Chicken Wings thread maybe. Anyhow, thanks&sorry to bug but I have a family full of chicken wing kooks whom love dear ol Dad's wings and homemade sauce but frankly its getting boring =)

Any MUST GO spots around the Caribe Royale Hotel in Lake Buena Vista??

I'm expecting all the nauseating nat'l chains, so a not so far off the beaten Chow-worthy path would be great! 3 thirty somethings and two teens...a good health food store/cafe would be helpful also...thx Chowsters!

Calling all Myrtle Beach chowsters, help!!! ~~SOS~~

Didnt realize that Prossers isnt open evenings, with late morning tee times all weekend it may be impossible. Was really looking forward to that place, oh well maybe Russells one nite....Does anyone have anything they can share about Carolina Roadhouse?? It is right around the corner from where we stay....

Thanks to all, Russells&Prossers both look to be right up our alley, cant wait to try both! Also, we have one in our group who is not a golfer, any cool spots to relax near the beach for him, weather permitting? He is an avid reader and, im sure would love a place to have a drink and relax on the days we golf....or any must see sights?

Calling all Myrtle Beach chowsters, help!!! ~~SOS~~

Im taking a golf trip with brother&cousins, all of us meeting in Myrtle Beach...should be fun. But if i dont have some good chow worthy spots lined up in advance, i fear they will make me go to Golden Corral or worse, if such a place exists...i just know it! Please help, we are staying thurs-sun and all ive got so far is ProssersBBQ,which looks good for our group. Strictly casual and would like to avoid any chains or hi-end steakhouses, and also need a recommendation on a good place to shop for groceries as we are staying in a condo with a full kitchen and these boys can eat man! We will be there the 2nd wknd in March. Thanks Chowsters......

Six 50-somethings seek taste of Florida in Tampa/Clearwater

Since you said 10 to 15mi of Clearwater, i will stick to Pinellas Co recommendations...If grouper is your wish, i would head to RustyBellies at the end of the sponge docks in TarponSprings, best grouper you will find. They also have an awesome menu top to bottom. Dont go anywhere near Frenchys, im sorry but the food sucks, its a tourist dive bar with no regard for quality to me. Ceviche i cannot speak on, but Guppys and SaltRock are both solid, solid choices. But if i had to take a pal for one memorable Florida seafood dinner, it would be RustyBellies. And just remember this about grouper, if the price seems too good to be true it probably is...can anyone say Vietnamese catfish!?!

Looking for good pizza places in Tampa, Florida!

Checking out Monicals website, i think what you want is Ledo Pizza, which is on N.Dale Mabry in Carollwood. Next to Tampa Pitcher Show. Excellent pizza, square cut thin crust, first rate toppings, and they use 1lb of provolone per large pie. An institution in Maryland, they franchised about 10yrs ago. As for NY style, i rate Pinocchio's on US19 in Palm Harbor above Cappy's, which was a disappointment for me, and ive tried their NY&Chi pies. I never really understood the love affair with Cappys and should have known when i saw they served both styles. And Pinocchio's also has a wonderful real italian menu in addition to pizza.

Well Chowsters, i took some of ur advice when we went see my beautiful new niece....Circumstances as they were, we had to do Flying Biscuit as take-out. It was still excellent and our very large order was nicely and neatly ready just as we arrived, every single thing accounted for. I am no grit afficionado, so take this FWIW, but best grits ive ever had!! Could eat a mop bucket of em, outrageously different and delicious. Collard greens top notch also. Would like to have eaten in, but very impressed with overall quality for value. Ive had $30 brunches that werent as good as their take out. Besides hitting the aquarium and BajaFresh, which was ok for fast food, we didnt have time for much else on our short stay. We did however have pizza and wings from Gordos NY Style Pizza, 2590 Peachtree Ind Blvd, which was better that average. Would definitely get a pie next visit. And oh yea, I got up early on Sun. w/my oldest daughter and scalped 2tix at Atl Ath Club to the PGA championship for.......wait for it...........$10 a piece!!! Party tent tix! It was a great day and an awesome visit. Really wanted to squeeze Gu's Bistro in, i was gettin a gourmalicious vibe there, but it'll hafta be our next trip to your fair city. Thanks again Chowsters!

Thanks Fishbio, i just got done checking out the Flying Biscuit, looks like our kinda place! Very interesting menu, and there's something about the phrase "breakfast all day" that just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling all over! Also, its less than 8mi from my brother's house, which will be perfect. I see the FB has received some pretty high profile press clippings too, im stoked! Btw, i noticed a Dreamland BBQ on the map, which was near by, can u or anyone vouch???Thought maybe some pulled pork takeout on the way back to the house.....thanks again.

Id really like to find something in the way of an upscale diner with late hours, or any good diner for that matter. Anything with a good solid menu, whatever the fare. We'd prefer casual dress, no reservations, no steakhouses and no nat'l chains. If time permits, we want to take the kids for a dog at The Varsity. BTW, are the dogs there really any good, or is it just the scene?

Taking the fam to visit Duluth to celebrate the arrival of my new niece! I dont expect the sleep deprived new parents to be, shall we say, in the entertaining mood : ) In need of some places within say a 20-30min drive. We will be with two teens, and welcome all suggestions..bfast, lunch, or dinner. Not picky, just a good ol fashioned foodie family. Thanks Chowsters...

Best Chicken Wings in Tampa Bay

Buffalo Wild Wings were waaay too small to even be considered. Green Iguana has very good wings, but i suspect the rest of the menu to be loaded with msg so dont go often. Im in Countryside area and we go to Eddies on Bayshore. They have declined in quality due to the fact that they no longer use Perdue wings. But its the best offering i have found round here.

In between Dunedin and St. Pete?

Need a good place to take a party of 10 in a couple of weeks. Anything north of 22nd ave n would be great. American, Italian, Thai, whatever...Im hoping someone can jog my memory or something. Dont get to st pete and points inbetween as much anymore and having a brain freeze. Italian might be best for this group but all input is appreciated. And also, does anyone know what happened to Marbo on 4th st, around 83rd ave?? I see it is the tick tock diner now. The buffet was standard fare, but ala carte was some of the best Chinese/Thai I ever had. That old man could sure cook & i hope he and his family are well. Thanks Chowsters...
