Scalino - new Ital. place in Park Slope
just discovered this place (another post)...liked it a lot and plan on going back very soon - we ate at frankies this weekend- which was mentioned as a comparative in this thread.....well the food was good but....an hour before we got our salad - another hour before we had our entree - total non-service - we had to beg for our check (another 1/2 hour) - sad when a place gets so popular that they really could care less whether you exist.
also....Scalino on 7th avenue and 10th street
i was reluctant to try this place - looked very plain and boring but....
i went with a friend for lunch during the week - we wanted to try something different - tired of sandwiches and thai food! - we were so pleasantly surprised - i had the pasta special with a gorgonzola cream sauce and my friend had the ravioli and we shared an endive salad - all delicious, simple - reminded me of what lunch is like in europe - no frilly stuff - no theatre - just good simple food and a glass of wine - with the owner serving you and talking to you - we will be regulars!
Breakfast at Little D!
if your looking for a great park slope breakfast (brunch) i highly recommend them - had sour cream pancakes, biscuits and sausage with gravy and my husband had the hangar steak and eggs - all delish - and a great bloody mary - place was nice and quiet too
