Mexican Hot Chocolate

Does anyone have an idea where I can get Mexican Hot Chocolate? I'm not talking about the stuff to make that-- I can buy that at Wegmans, but a place that I can buy it freshly made to enjoy. I had some amazing stuff in Baltimore and now I'm craving it again! I'm in the KOP area, but I don't mind travelling a bit to get my craving satisfied!

BYO's in the Western Burbs?

I'm in dire need of BYO's that are in the KOP/Conshy/Manayunk/Paoli areas.. I've got a couple places in mind like Chiangmai and Taste of India, but that's it.. I'm open to any type of cuisine, as long as it's affordable (max of $25 an entree)...

Client Dinner Willow Grove/Norristown/King Of Prussia

I'm here to piggy back on the NaBrasa suggestion. I went there a couple months ago when I wasn't in the mood to deal with CC parking and go to my favorite place (Chima). They are absolutely outstanding and a great deal for the price. They are slightly lacking with their salad bar, but you're not there for salad, YOU'RE THERE FOR THE MEAT! The drinks that they have are also rather outstanding, if you like rum, definately get a Caphirina, it will be outstanding.

I'm not sure if this would be a good idea of a client meeting though, when you go to NaBrasa or places like that, you're mainly going to end up pigging out, eating way too much and being all sorts of uncomfortable. Well, that's usually what happens to me.

Kinnaree in Horsham, PA

I tried this place for a first date and I was so so with my meal. Maybe I'm just spoiled with Chiangmai in Conshy. I got the the chicken satay and I wasn't too pleased with the chicken, I thought it was slightly overcooked b/c it came out very very rubbery. My Massaman curry wasn't as flavorful as I hoped. I was hoping for something spicier. I think I made the mistake of just thinking that their curry was going to be spicy and was sadly dissapointed.

What's the best dish you've ever eaten at a chain? What surprised you most?

I would LOVE fish and chops. Who needs the fries!?!?

Great Food Buys At BJ's Wholesale Club

Doesn't the free 90 day trial have some caveat about changing the prices or something? When I went to my local BJ's they tried to pull some stunt with me at the register..

12 lbs of RICE.... and only 1 person to enjoy it.. HELP!!

I've never thought about mixing the type of rice.. That sounds like such a great idea!

12 lbs of RICE.... and only 1 person to enjoy it.. HELP!!

I was thinking about doing that, but I'm not sure if they'll take it b/c it's not bagged. I sterilized 2 big Homer buckets from Home Depot with lids and have the rice in there..

12 lbs of RICE.... and only 1 person to enjoy it.. HELP!!

So, for some strange reason, my mom has decided that she wanted to buy a 25lb bag of rice. After realizing that it's just her and my father living alone, she's given me half of the bag. Now I have 2 bucket fulls of rice sitting in my basement staring at me in the face. Three days after I get this massive onslaught of rice, my boyfriend decides that he no longer wants to eat white rice. *SCREAMS*

So, now. I'm stuck with 12lbs of rice. WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS INSANITY?!?!

It's your generic white long grain rice. I make rice and beans like it's my job (mainly b/c i love it), regular rice cooker white rice and rice pudding... Other than that, I'm at a loss..

So, Chowhounds, help me...What else can i do with this??!?

Have you been to the UMFarmers Market recently? I went 2 weeks ago and I was horribly disappointed.. The fruits/veggies didn't look good at all and there wasn't a good selection of vendors there.. Maybe I went on an off Saturday..

Night Market

Looks interesting but I wish it was on a Saturday night.. I'd definitely be more apt to travel to University city to get some beer and food truck goodness if I didn't have to worry about work the next day.

I was totally thinking about doing the Sucking Pig at Amada, but getting people who are pig fiends like me together is kinda hard. If you're serious about doing the suckling pig, keep this post alive. I'd gladly join you to get my pig on! I bet you'd find other people here who would join up with you too!

Tomato Pie in Philly Burbs?

If you get to the local farmer's market and see the Big Sky is there, make a beeline, hiss at the people in the way of you and the tomato pie, make them scatter, grab the pie and buy it. Srsly, it's worth it. It never makes it home from the market. I used to get into the habit of buying two just so I can have one for later.

$8 for a $100 gift certificate at Resturant.com! / Restaurant suggestions..

I totally agree with you CindiA.. It can be hard to find a place to go to find something good or that's worth spending that much. I can honestly say that I never thought I'd have a problem trying to make it to the minimum but I've had issues with it. I think that has to do more w/ my allergies than anything else.. It's hard to have dessert or try new apps when you're allergic to eggs and shellfish..

Tomato Pie in Philly Burbs?

If I can get to it, Sarcone's. It's exactly how I love it. It's thick, the sauce is thick but not chunky and they're heavy on the oregano (which is how I love it)

When I lived in West Chester, I'd stock up at the local farmer's market and get it from Big Sky Bread.. OH GOD. http://www.bigskybread.com/

I actually need to find a closer place (around City Hall) so I can just run out from work and get a quick slice. I would go to RTM, but I hate hate HATE the crowds..

Tomato Pie in Philly Burbs?

So, I've been ridiculously spoiled and I can't help it. Tomato pies. GOD I LOVE THEM. And I've been spoiled with the fact that RTM is close to my job and the Italian Market is a quick bus ride from work. But now, I want it on the weekend. And I don't want to go all the way back into CC to get a good slice. I live in KOP but I'll travel max maybe 10 miles. I went to two Farmer's Markets in hopes of getting a slice, but that was a mistake. It seems the only Farmer's Market that sells them like the thick tomatoey mass of dough is the one in West Chester.. The Farmer's markets in Wayne has a ridiculously thin overpriced one and in KOP .. well, they didn't even have it.. So, yeah.. where can I get a slice of this heaven in my mouth in the KOP area?

I was re-reading a lot of the fine print of the sites, it's not bad, but it's a good deal in comparison to the full price that I could be paying.. Some of them don't include alcohol, but I found a couple that do!

$8 for a $100 gift certificate at Resturant.com! / Restaurant suggestions..

So, I was checking my facebook this morning (As per usual) and I saw this random deal that showed up on my allrecipes.com feed.

They have a promotion going on w/ Restaurant.com where you can get an $100 gc from them for $8!!

When you chose that you want the $100 gc and get to the check out section, put in ARDINE as your promocode and boom, 75% off. I was a little skeptical, but I bought one and it apparently works..

I don't know how many times you can use the promocode, but it's awesome. It expires on Saturday.

I've already got a list of places that I'm going to try out
- Chiangmai
- Twenty 9 Restaurant & Bar
- Agiato
- Rum Bar Lounge & Restaurant
- Mediterranean | Middle Eastern
- Casablanca Morracan Cuisine

Does anyone else have any suggestions for places from CC to KOP?

[BTW, I don't work for any of these places nor for allrecipes or restaurant.com. I'm just spreading the love]

Na Brasa

Chima is at 19th and JFK in CC. I LOVE it better than going to Fogo. To me, Fogo is overpriced, with overly salty meat.

I'm so glad that you gave this review. I've seen this place lots of times and have always been curious to go. I'm a hardcore proponent for Chima and it feels like cheating if I go anywhere else. Now I'm excited.. Mmmmm. meat.
