Zucchini Layer Cake with Tangy Buttercream Frosting

Could I use yellow squash instead of zucchini?

Beer-Braised Pulled Pork

Delicious recipe. The combination of cinnamon and cooking pork was divine while it was in the oven. Like trane, I'm not sure what to do with the extra sauce. It's delicious and I hate to waste it. Chow, any suggestions?

Salmon en Croûte

This is a great recipe! I did change up the ingredients list a bit to reflect what I had fresh in the kitchen. I used halibut as the fish. Sage as the herb. And I added mushrooms to the mix. Delicious! After my first bite I immediately wished I had doubled the recipe to have leftovers. My dinner guests raved about it.

I paired it with an arugula and goat cheese salad. And dessert was vanilla ice cream with crushed lemon shortbread cookies on top.

Fettuccine Alfredo

tasty and easy... but definitely not good for you. I added asparagus to add the illusion of healthful eating! hehe

Mocha Pudding Cake

Easy and crave-able. Do not forget the vanilla ice cream on top of this gooey cake. I used decaf coffee so we wouldn't get a caffeine buzz. It reheats nicely for leftovers the next day.

Béarnaise Sauce

A zillion thumbs up on this recipe. It's rich and creamy - perfect for a special meal. I followed the recipe to a T, and now I feel confident to make this again much faster. I used thyme and rosemary as the herbs only because this is what my little garden offers. :)

Pepper-Crusted Filet Mignon

Easy and tasty. I definitely recommend making the Bearnaise sauce with this steak. Wow.

Oysters with Prosecco Mignonette

This Mignonette is amazing and easy. I didn't have champagne vinegar on hand, so I used red wine vinegar. My husband and I weren't picky with the substitution because they turned it turned out delicious. I made these as a starter and paired them with this steak recipe with Bearnaise sauce. http://www.chow.com/recipes/29302-pep...

The ingredients of the Mignonette and the Bearnaise sauce have easy overlaps so you don't have to buy a ton of new ingredients at the store. Bonus points for me!

Post-wedding brunch

Hi Chowhounders!
My fiance and I are looking for comfy, low-key, but delicious place for a post-wedding brunch in Seattle. We have about 40 Southerners coming into town we'd like to entertain.

Any advice is appreciated.

yum,
Amanda

Chicken Pot Pie

This was delicious! The smell of sage, butter, and onions cooking can't be beat. My fiance loved it too. It's something I'm going to have to remember for pot lucks. I used puff pastry from Trader Joes and left out the Italian parsley just because I forgot it. It still turned out fabulous.

Coconut Tres Leches Cake

This recipe was a hit at the party I took it to. I saw people going back for seconds and thirds. I'll be making it again soon that's for sure.
