New Tapas in SoNo?
I'm not sure if it's because I've been in hibernation all winter, but I noticed a tapas place on the main drag in SoNo when I was walking around on Saturday. I don't recall the name (helpful, I know) - has anyone been there yet?
Pittsburgh this weekend
Thanks for the recommendations. I looked into the inclines - that's now a definite to-do on my list. Any thoughts on which restaurants to hit up there?
Pittsburgh this weekend
I am heading to Pittsburgh this weekend and was looking for some recommendations for lunch, dinner and bars/pubs. Any cuisine and price point is fine, just nothing overly dressy or formal. Sorry to be vague; I've never been and was just hoping for a few top picks. Thanks!
Butterfield 8 in Stamford
I'm not sure, actually. I know there's a Butterfield 8 in Manhattan but I'm not sure if they're related.
Butterfield 8 in Stamford
On the Stamford Downtown website, it says that Butterfield 8 is coming soon - it looks like it's going into the old Temple Bar. Anyone have more info?
For all the Stamford foodies:
What's interesting to me is that the Trump Parc website is touting Houlihan's as a "fine dining restaurant"

Looks like Barcelona, among others, are confirmed:

Drunken Watermelon Pops
Can anyone suggest other fruits that may work with this recipe?

Best Brunch in Fairfield County
On a related note, does anyone know if Winfield's at the Hyatt has unlimited mimosas/bloodys (like Restaurant X)?
Good waterfront restaurant in Fairfield Cty?
I'm looking for a good waterfront restaurant for Saturday night between Greenwich and Westport. Any cuisine is fine, and price is not an issue. Upscale but not stuffy would be ideal.
Good margaritas in Ffd. Cty.
I agree - Vivas has great ones - fresh lime juice, and you can actually taste the tequila. Fonda's, in my experience, have been weak.
Good margaritas in Ffd. Cty.
I'm finding a dearth of decent margaritas in the Stamford area - anyone have any suggestions? The type of restaurant/bar doesn't make a difference - holes-in-the-wall are great, as are more upscale places.
Zinc Closed?
I agree, to an extent - while these projects are great for the city, how many high-priced condos does Stamford need? Yes, I understand RBS is coming to town, but really - how many people are going to shell out over $1MM for a Highgrove condo?
Zinc Closed?
Here's a Stamford Advocate article from last week on the subject:

Sabatiello's in Stamford
Just as an FYI, I stopped and checked out the menu this morning - it looks VERY similar to the old one, although there may be fewer items. Also, does anyone know when that episode of "Kitchen Nightmares" will air? I'd be very curious to check it out.
Sabatiello's in Stamford
No kidding? Huh, I had no idea. This is really interesting - the sign that's been out there for a few days (I walk past every day to and from work) states that it's "Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsey's favorite Italian in Fairfield County"!
Lunch in West Nyack
We're heading to West Nyack on Sunday, and I was looking for a good lunch (or possibly brunch) place in the area. Any cuisine is fine, aside from Japanese, and price isn't really an issue. The only constraint is that we don't want anything too "dressy" (i.e. jeans would be fine).
Sabatiello's in Stamford
Does anyone know what happened? They had a sign out front that it's under new management, and the new awning they put up today is touting it as "Sabatiello's Italian Steakhouse," with a piano bar. Any insight? Also, I'd love to hear some reviews if anyone's up for being the guinea pig.
Columbus Park/Tarantino
Columbus Park is my favorite Italian in Stamford - I've been many times, and it has never disappointed. Can anyone tell me if Tarantino in Westport (same owners) is comparable?
Williams Sonoma cooking classes
Has anyone ever been to one? My local store is offering a series of them for $65 each. Is it enjoyable enough to be worth the time (3 hrs.) and money?
Sausage maker
I'm interested in purchasing a sausage maker or some sort of meat grinder/sausage filler combo. I do not want anything professional-grade or for very large volumes, just something relatively easy to use (and, perhaps more importantly, easy to clean) and that performs well.
New York Wine Expo
You are correct - I was getting ahead of myself! I've also heard good things about the one in Boston.
Where exactly is the restaurant food show going to be held? That sounds fantastic!
New York Wine Expo
At the Javits Center in NYC next weekend. Has anyone been in the past? Is it worth the time/money/trip?
Dunn's Loft in Stamford?
Has anyone tried it? It's the relatively new steakhouse above Ocean 211.
Heading to Boston this weekend - need recommendations
I'm going to Boston with my boyfriend for two nights. I'm fairly familiar with the city but was hoping for some recommendations for dinners and bars. I'm looking for something semi-upscale but still fun - not stuffy at all. Prices aren't really an issue, so long as they're not out-of-control expensive.
Dinner with the In-Laws: Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk, or?
Columbus Park is fantastic. You could also try Bennett's Steak & Fish - a little pricier, but nice, quiet atmosphere and great food.
Fairfield County Martinis?
Any suggestions on where to find a strawberry-basil martini in Fairfield County?
