Via Allegro has great foot, but the atmosphere is so pretentious.
It was friendly and welcoming when it was first established, but after getting some renown it changed.

Al Lago on south side of Lakeshore. It is just east of 30th. Good veal. The oven roasted potatoes are excellent. Actually, most of what Mike prepares is good to excellent. His food is better than the food at the restaurant he trained in when he first arrived here.
Also, for good Polish/Ukrainian takeout, try Karpaty, again, on the south side, right at 30th.
