A quality go-to with a view--and a great bar/lounge area--is Canoe ... just my two cents.

The Distillery District may have a few large venues for rental (I had an event there for 500 standing in the past), but you'd have to get it catered ... big and rustic, that's for sure!

Gotta go with Canoe - been about a dozen times and always great + bar area is brilliant.

Have you checked out Enoch Turner Schoolhouse? Or renting Balzac's at the Distillery (catered)?

Not overly original, but have you tried St. Lawrence Market - downstairs ... might be a good place to start ... also, Brick Street Bakery (Beaches and Distillery) would be a lock, in my opinion. Good luck!
