Picky Eater...Near Massey Hall

Going to see a show there and a couple friends are fussy.
Need suggestion for a resto. I vouched for Paramount but that's not simple enough.

Wasn't happy with HardRock last time.

Any other pub type food places?

Thanks

Does a place like this exist?

Thanks for all the suggestions from everyone.

Gonna put them out there see what we all agree upon.

Personally leaning towards Harlem Underground.

Thanks again.

Live music would be alright too, as long as it doesn't get toooo loud. Hope I'm not painting a picture as if we're geezers, just want to keep it light and fun.

I am Greek....willing to skip Greek tunes this weekend. Lol

Does a place like this exist?

Looking for a place to go this weekend. It will be 2 (possibly 3) married couples for a dinner and night out without children. Cuisine is not an issue as none of us as finicky. We'd like to keep it a $50 pp with drinks included.

Music is almost a must, yet light enough for conversation. Anywhere within a 10km radius of Yonge and Eglinton

I know its vague but I guess I'm after music and ambiance primarily.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

BBQ in Bradford

Late Reply...uuugh

Estrela was pretty good, I must say.

Their fish was tasty as well.

Will try again, for sure,.

O Bairradino

A friend's wife suggested Estrela too. I think I will go with them.

Thanks for the suggestion Davwud

O Bairradino

O Bairradino on Lansdowne is my 'go to' place. Seems they are still closed for holidays.

I don't speak Portuguese to understand the message on their answering service.

Question is: Where do I go now for same food at the same quality and price??

Please suggest as I'm having a house full of people over tomorrow and churassco chicken and some breaded sole was on my menu.

Thanks

Soft Shell Crabs

Folia Grill: pork gyros is not your typical gyros...its ridiculously amazing

Ok...I have to try this place...it's a 2 minute walk from my in-laws. My wife will be pleasantly surprised that I want to go down to her mom's!

Pulled Pork in the oven

wanker, it's not the only main. I also have two ovens so I'll spread out the cooking. But I will keep an eye on them, and foil as needed.

Pulled Pork in the oven

Hi everyone,

Long story short. We are hosting a charity poker event. Expecting 100 players. 15 people are providing the food and I have been chosen to make the pulled pork.

I plan on making the butts in large aluminum pans/trays. Will the butts be okay directly on the tray or should in put them on racks from roasting pans?

Also, are 2 butts (20-22 lbs.) enough? Keep in mind there will be plenty of other food.

Thanks

Thanks for all the suggestions. Here's what the plan is.

2 pork shoulder for pulled pork done the day before
300 or so meatballs
2 pots of chili
rice & potatoes
pasta salad with and without tuna
bean salad
green salad
sandwiches cut in quarters

big box of loukoumades and coffee

not bad for free food at a fundraiser..so who's coming? :)

hope it turns out ok

Pot Luck Buffet for 100

Kajikit, you're right. Maybe what I should have originally ask was suggestions for affordable fare to host/cater an event like this by parents that want to keep the cost low. But like you said, the element of randomness provides nothing but salads.

Pot Luck Buffet for 100

Thanks for the replies so far.

The players aren't bringing anything. What's happening is, my poker game is a fundraiser for a sports team. The parents on the team take care of the pot luck Last years game had a ton of salads and not too much of anything else. This year we are actually assigning food items to individuals to bring. The common denominator is that everyone spends roughly the same. I like the idea of meatballs..could have many variations, as well as sandwiches. A couple loukoumades each for a treat, now we're talking.

Pot Luck Buffet for 100

Hi foodies, I need some help here.

I'm having a 'large' poker game soon. At this game I'm expecting around 100 players, possibly more. We will have a dinner break. What can I have that meet these criteria?

1) Variety
2) Low Cost
3) Preferably finger-type food (will have rice or pasta, cheap filler)
4) Low Prep

Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to your replies.

London area resto for hockey team

Thanks for the reply, phoenikia.

We are actually staying at Four Points Sheraton by Whits Oaks mall on Wellington. I've been to Timber's before, don't know if I want to bring all the boys and their siblings there. I never thought of Jack Astors or Manadarin. Might just be quick and easy. We will have a vote and majority will rule.

Thanks again.

London area resto for hockey team

Hi everyone,

long time & appreciative lurker, first time poster.

My son's hockey team is going to London for a tourney. The team normally takes everyone (kids) out for dinner one of the nights. Parents pay their own way.

Any suggestions that don't break with decent atmosphere and food.
Not everyone comes but we could have up to 60 people.

Thanks
